Reviews on Cafe food in Lynton, England, United Kingdom. Lynton is a small town on the Exmoor coast in Devon, England standing on top of the cliffs above the picturesque harbour village of Lynmouth, to which it is connected by the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway. Lynton was once the terminus for the narrow-gauge Lynton & Barnstaple Railway, which served both towns.

Lovely place to stop after a day walking the Valley of the Rocks. Very friendly and HUGE scones. Highly recommend it, very quirky toilets outside too!

I couldn't believe how BAD my meal at this place was... After a couple of mouth fulls I nearly gagged and had to leave the rest. It tasted fowl and the plate was swimming in oil. I left and had to find another place to eat and fork out money to pay for another meal. The satue potatoes were not sauteed, they were roasted potatoes that were then fried (sometime later after cooking I think), and the meat pie consisted of an enormous bowl of meat/gravy with hardly any filling on the top, and it tasted awful. The veg was on a side dish and dried out/tasteless. Nearly one of the worst meals I've ever had, shocking! After ordering a meat pie with saute potatoes and vegetables, I received a plate with swimming in grease from the potatoes, which in no way were sauteed but ordinary potatoes cut in pieces and friend, it was so bad my food nearly slipped off the plate. Hi Maureen,I am sorry you had such a BAD meal. I am not totally sure if you are reviewing the correct Tea-rooms as we don't serve Pies or sautéed potatoes.
Excellent hosts and service. They're super friendly and always make us feel welcome. Everything is immaculate and beautifully decorated. Went for the Chinese night and had an amazing time. Would also definitely recommend the cheesecake with honeycomb. One of my favourites!

Fresh baguettes, sandwiches and salad boxes made to order, hot or cold drinks and homemade cakes, scones and biscuits. Gluten free options available
Wonderful establishment serving breakfast, teas and coffee, cream tea and light bites plus take away baguettes. We went in most days of our weeks holiday, apart from Monday when shut for lovely freshly made to order baguettes. Would recommend Ham and Mustard mayonnaise and chicken oh and cheese and salad. We tended to place order and then pop to Costcutter for pop and crisps then go back to collect picnic. Lovely ladies in shop dont know if related but very friendly. Was sad to say goodbye on last day when brought final lunch for journey home. Went to Lundy during holiday and as early start had to make do with the driest thrown together cheese baguett I have ever had for twice as much.

Refreshments served with a side order of spectacular views across Lynmouth Bay. Our Grade I listed building perched high on the cliff top above the Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway is perhaps the most beautiful location for a Cream Tea in the Westcountry.
Very very expensive. Food was ok but the staff very rude. Better of going down the road to somewhere different. Sorry are you talking about the right establishment. If any of my staff were rude to you you should of told us we all have name badges. Are prices reflect our quality of locally sourced food. Even still are prices are a lot lower than most cafe/coffee shops in the area.

Cafe and Tea Garden offering Devon produce and homemade cakes. Famous for Cream Teas!
I love this cafe. Itâs quite small, so hard to get a table, but well worth the wait. Really lovely fresh lunches at reasonable prices and amazing cakes. The scones are absolutely delicious (you can see why they are award winning). Would highly recommend a visit. Thank you so much for your review. You are right when you say it's quite small especially when it rains we lose our garden and we fill up very quickly. Everything is freshly prepared, so when we are busy there is a wait but glad you enjoyed your lunch and highly recommend us it means a lot.
