Strachur is one of the most picturesque places to visit on the shores of Loch Fyne and Bay Cottage has been described as the "hidden gem". Serving food ranging from traditional Scottish breakfast, our world famous (yes, world famous)Cullen Skink and
I ordered smoked salmon and scrambled egg on farmhouse bread and I was pretty disappointed when it turned up. Seemed like a standard loaf to be honest, but looked tasty enough, so I just got on with it. When I took the salmon off the top, you could clearly see that someone had left the eggs on too long and they had become stuck to the bottom of the pan. They tried to remove most of the burnt bits, but you could taste it and see how discoloured it was. I was so hungry after my cycle I just ate and left. Wonât be rushing back there.

Royal Burgh Bistro is situated in the main street in the heart of Inveraray. We were warmly welcomed on arrival. The restaurant is a wee bit dark, but clean. We ordered a series of sandwiches for me and my group. The club sandwich my wife has was disappointing. The middle slice of bread in the three-layer sandwich was slathered, on both sides, with pesto sauce, which gave the sandwich an awful taste. We complained, but the waitress did not appear interested in changing it. Pesto is not an ingredient of a club sandwich and should not be included unless it is clearly stated on the menu. One of our group had a sandwich with meatballs in it, which she loved. I had a smoked salmon sandwich that was also good.

Dined here with my parents and family, 6 of us, planned on having lunch. A few people in when we arrived but not overly busy. My Mum asked if she could put 2 tables together to accommodate us all, only to be told by the owner âdo what you wantâ, charming!Got served quite quickly, coffees arrived then it went down hill. Waited an hour on our food, we hadnât ordered anything out the ordinary, just filled rolls. After waiting 45 minutes I went to the desk to ask how much longer we had to wait and was told it was just coming; people that came in after us were served food before us; another 15 minutes later and we eventually got our food but one order was wrong so it got sent back. No apology, no offer of more coffees. Havenât been back and wonât go back. Shame as the food was good but as a customer, donât expect to be spoken to in such a rude manner.

Stopped for tea and scone while travelling north. Tearoom was quite busy so we sat outside in the sunshine. Service was quick despite the numbers of customers.Food was excellent although the scone was so fresh it fell to bits when spread with butter. Good pot of tea too. Will try again when it is less busy and sample a greater variety of food. I would recommend anyone to give it a try.

We stopped in for lunch and a bite to eat in this dog friendly community run cafe. Our dog was made a fuss of and given treats and water. We had the all day breakfast which was massive and well cooked. This was followed by an amazing cake which we found out was home made by Kerry. All delicious and we didnât need to eat anything else for the rest of the day. Prices very reasonable and coffee was great too. We will be back and thanks goes to Colon and Kerry for the great service they are providing to the community and visitors alike. Well done.

Arrochar Tearoom is a small tearoom in the village of Arrochar that opened its doors again in September 2011. The building has served as a tearoom as far back as 1940s I believe it has changed names a few times but always traded as a tearoom. Parking is b
While on a short holiday in Scotland came upon these tea rooms, as we entered we were greeted by a gentleman I now belive is the owner Michael. It was a very warm and welcoming one, once we had asked him about his menu we decided on the large breakfast, well it was a plate of quality and quantity. The food was really tasty and was presented not just thrown on the plate. As we left we asked for some choc chip shortbread which we ate later, again the quality was there. I would recommend this establishment to anyone going within a few miles of Arrochar. Thank you Michael.

The first thing that you'll notice when you walk in will be the homely and inviting atmosphere, the second will be the very subtle aroma of beautiful local produce. Modern and traditional cuisine made using the best of local produce, served in a charming
First ate here about 7 years ago so we were pleased to see Brambles going strong. Called for lunch: seafood platter, macaroni cheese, apple strudel and two glasses of white wine, plus sausage rolls to take home for tea. Even though the place was packed the service was friendly & efficient and out lunch first class!

Popped in for coffee and decided to have lunch. Freshly made sandwiches, nicely presented and came with a fresh Waldorf type salad. We went for the chicken and pesto and the homemade walnut pate on granary bread. Both were really good, as was the coffee. Great spot by the loch and playing cards on the table a nice touch. Also dog friendly so what more could you want.
