We first visited cafe delight when it opened and ordered coffee. There seemed to be a problem with the coffee machine. The coffee was not very good. I returned last week and ordered tea and scones which was lovely. Cafe can be noisy and a bit cramped. Our bill was so reasonable much cheaper than some other establishments and a lot better. Will return.

On our first visit to the lochside cafe our overall impression was that there were too many tables. It seemed a bit crowded. The coffee was a dissappointment. There was no coffee brand advertised on show. The second time we visited we had two pots of weak tea and two misshapen scones for £9.50. Overpriced I think. There is lovely home baking to enjoy but the coffee has to bring you back. A pity but we wonât be rushing back. Hi thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry that your experience was not better. The coffee which we choose to use is artisan roast from Edinburgh. This is a great blend of coffee which is roasted fresh for us every week, so it is disappointing to hear it was not up to your expectation. We did not advertise in our café which coffee we sourced but that has now been changed. We now have on display at the side of our till the blend of coffee which has details on where the coffee beans were actually sourced and how they were roasted. Again I would like to apologise for your tea being to weak for you, we do use sukki tea, a loose leaf tea and with an exact measurement that put in each teapot. We do also offer an option for cream tea for 2 which is tea for two and two scones with cream and jam for £7.50. Our prices are very competitive being, on average the same as any nearby cafes so I do apologise you feel this was to expensive. Again I would like to thank you for your review and I hope you choose to give us another chance.

Went especially to have lobster bisque which was on the menu online but no on the in house menu. Still a great lunch. I had a starter seafood platter which was a perfect lunch dish. Lovely fresh salad topped with plenty of seafood. However my husband who loves fish and trips was very disappointed in his. Too much batter and fish too small. He only rated his meal 5/10. But the decor is lovely and the staff really friendly so we shall try again. My meal couldn't have been better. But good fish and chips are important as there is so much competition. Hi there Robyn P, Thank you for your review to your most recent visit to The Lobster Pot.I am sorry that you missed out on The Lobster Bisque, due to recent menu changes, this option had been removed. However, we will have this back on again and will be on our special boards, please call up to enquire.I am sorry to hear that your husband was disappointed with their fish and chips regarding the size and the amount of batter. We have spoken with the suppliers and they do try their best to take out the smallest size fish, and we have spoken to our chefs regarding the amount of batter on the fish.We do endeavor to do better next time and that if and when you next visit, please make yourself known to Tash or myself.Kind Regards, Sheena

Decided to visit the Hideaway Cafe again to day after some time. It was busy but everyone was served very quickly and efficiently. We had baked potato with a huge helping of delicious egg mayo with salad and a chicken and mayo toasted sandwich with salad. Both proved too much for us, as we couldnât finish them. Will certainly return.

Visited here for a quick lunch.A very good range of options available. I'd go as far as saying something for everyone. Prices were average and in line with most places in linlithgow. Good space between tables - didn't feel hemmed in. Staff very welcoming. Didn't feel rushed at all.Food itself was nice, well presented, hot and very filling.Would definitely recommend

Have to say the Mexican themed night was a mixed bag for us. The soft taco starters were all excellent, priced 5.50-6-50...sweet potato & feta, chicken & mango salsa & especially the super tender juicy beef, all lovely. Mains however, were just OK. Chicken Mole was pleasant enough. The beef buritto priced at £14 was, well, just a beef burrito. Nice flavours & we're not all about big portions but there was less steak in it than in the taco starter. Just an observation. Will still go back during day for lunch, excellent soups, coffee etc.

I recently got a new kitchen fitted and was without cooking facilities for 4 weeks. I bought most of my meals from Taste. They have a brilliant choice of takeaway food. I had lovely salads, baked potatoes, lasagne, macaroni cheese and pulled pork, all homemade and very reasonably priced. And the staff are lovely too!
