Things to do in Lechlade
We were looking for a dog friendly café to visit and discovered Jennie's kitchen. A cosy café with a lovely courtyard outside, we were spoilt for choice - a range of hot meals, snacks, soups and scrummy homemade cakes. You can also order afternoon tea in advance. We opted for bacon rolls followed by coffee and cake. The weather was glorious when we were here and we spent a few hours eating and relaxing in the courtyard. There is car parking too. A lovely friendly place that welcomes families and pets - there are also alpacas as you'll see below. Would thoroughly recommend.

A beautiful old building full of character. A super varied menu for us to choose from. Our young waitress was friendly and polite. We had Indonesian soup to share a BLT and Brie on toast with walnuts and Honey. Very happy with our food. Only downside was we felt waiting a half an hour for our food was a little long.

We visited this lovely café on a sunny afternoon for a leisurely lunch and sat outside. We ordered a smoked chicken sandwich, goulash, Scotch egg and a pulled pork roll. Everything was delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. We followed on with lemon drizzle cake, chocolate Guinness cake and doughnuts! So much delicious home made food - we rather overdid it! Then we bought a loaf of bread from the bakery and some gorgeous cheese to take home for later. What a find! Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Who would have thought in little Faringdon. The most delicious Indonesian food combined with excellent coffee. A regular business visitor to Faringdon I drive out of my way to come here either for lunch or just the coffee. Delightful ladies that own it too. Thoroughly deserve all the top ratings

Buscot is Between Lechlade and Faringdon, located near a popular lock on the Thames.
What a cracking team room near Buscot Weir. Very friendly service and fortunate enough to benefit from freshly baked scones just out of the oven with lashings of jam and clotted cream, absolutely delicious. A lovely sunny day to be able to sit in the garden, ample seating in amongst a delightful cottage garden. What more could you ask for. We'll be back!

As we walked into the kitchen we were greeted, handed a menu and told to take a seat as someone would be over to take our order. After 8mins (only one other customer) I approached the counter and ordered a coffee myself as the server seemed preoccupied on her phone. The coffee was average, there was a dirty fork as well as food debris on the floor and uncleaned tables. A couple had left leaving cups and plates on their table, we were there for a further 15mins to which these had not been cleared away. A disappointing visit to which I will not be returning. We very much appreciate your feedback. We pride ourselves on swift service & high standards especially of cleanliness. We have a no phone policy during shifts. The above sounds truly awful & very out of character. We would really appreciate it if you would be able to e-mail us directly on [email protected] with the date & approximate time of your visit so we can speak with staff member involved & ensure the above never happens again!

This was definitely the hub of the high street on a sunny Sunday morning, busy with locals, cyclists, bikers & dog walkers. We weren't in a hurry so didn't mind the relaxed service especially as it was so charming. It was worth the wait - the best scrambled eggs we've had in a while & heavenly sour dough toast. Fresh orange juice seemed a little pricey but coffees were good. Everything must be specifically cooked to order as we were unable to get a last minute change from bacon to sausage, but it didn't dent our enjoyment of the morning.HiThank you. Glad you noticed and appreciated what we all work hard to achieve. A relaxed, casual, informal atmosphere with good food and coffee to match! Thanks for taking the time to write!Rob
