Lausanne was once an intellectual capital, attracting great thinkers such as Rousseau and Voltaire. Today it is a haven for those who love water skiing, swimming and sailing. The International Olympic Committee is even headquartered here. The town's history is evident, though, in its medieval cathedral, the museums of the Palais de Rumine, and Ouchy, the port where Lord Byron wrote "The Prisoner of Chillon" and the Treaty of Lausanne was ratified. For great views, hike up to the Signal de Sauvabelin.

I followed the recommendation of fellow Trip Advisors and went for a Sunday brunch. Seems like the place is very popular and if you want a table you should definitely reserve in advance. Since I was alone thereâs was no problem getting a place at the bar table at the window facing the street.Very friendly and professional service, cozy atmosphere and you donât notice the time passing by. What I was missing is having a bigger choice - you can choose from salty or sweet 4-5 options, but itâs all designed as a dish. No possibility to create your own brunch formula. Considering a Swiss idea of brunch itâs very standard what they offer, but a far cry from some places who are specialized in brunch.

We went to this cafe for late breakfast and it was nice. I took the âbreakfast completâ which had a variety of things (coffee, scrambled eggs, orange juice. A croissant etc...) I would recommend this place for breakfast or simply a coffee. For the restaurant management there are two things that could be improved. 1 staff need to be more organised when itâs busy as they seem to panic when the restaurant is busy 2. There is rust on the jam jars so please replace.

Be it breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, Cafe de Grancy is one of the best places to eat literally anything in Lausanne! The ambiance is very cozy, the staff very helpful and cheerful and the options are always delicious, constantly changing according to produce in season. The omelette with everything (ham, cheese and herbs) was great for breakfast/brunch, the steak tartare, the seafood salad and the chicken is always delightful for any meal. For dessert, please try the creme brûlée trio, it is to die for!

A local friend recommended this place, and we were not disappointed. We got a starter, the squidink pasta, a salad (Savannah) and two desserts. Everything was quite good. Although we didn't speak any French, the staff were super help and accommodating. Even though the restaurant was completely filled up, the service was attentive and efficient. We wish we could stay for the concert. If you like sweet cocktails, zombie is delicious!

We visited the place with 2 small kids and loved it. The selection of breakfast options is sufficient. We finally could find a place with porridge, and not just croissant and jam. Food (porridge, pancakes, Nordic breakfast) was very tasty. The service was quick. There are games, books, crayons for kids, and that is important to make the experience for parents enjoyable.
