I've been stopping at the Albion in my Lorry for the past 8year's. Ang, John (the boss and the bosses husband) and all the staff always make everyone welcome. The food is cooked fresh and always plentiful and there's normally a special meal. All truckers welcome, BUT leave a space for me. The toilets are open 24hours and shower is available during opening times. A39 about 9 miles off the M5 jct23 away from Bridgewater. Worth the journey.

We used to come here years ago and revisited when our new usual favourite was overcrowded. Very pleased we did. Lovely fresh scones which were warmed. Bit mean on clotted cream though! Good quality tea and coffee. Very efficient and friendly waiter. Will be returning.

We stopped off for lunch. I had their take on a picnic, basically a home made pork pie, cheese and caremalised onion toastie, salad, chutney, home made slaw and fries. It was all nice and tasty, served on a wooden board. We sat in the railway carriage but could have sat in the marquee or an old double decker bus. Service was good, we arrived just after 2.30 when they stop cooking lunch but still catered from their lunch menu for us. Dogs are allowed in the marquee. Outside there is a shop called The Trading Post, selling all sorts of different foodstuff which you see in farm shops and on line. It also does fill ups if you bring your own bottle or container. Definitely worth another visit when I am in the area.

A very small cafe at the back of a lovely shop. Not much room but fortunately it was warm enough to sit outside. Sandwiches were a bit hit and miss. They were tasty but some seemed to be lacking some bread! I didn't like the dressing theyused on the salad but that is a personal taste.

Been here before and enjoyed it. I knew there were disabled parking spaces, which we need. They were both full, so i asked if OK to park on the road. the owner told me it wasn't as neighbours don't like it, but I parked anyway. The fun began when a little chap hollered at me from his car, telling me to move. After some heated words on his part, not mine, i walked away. He followed me into the cafe shouting and jabbing his finger at me, and ranting at the owner. I recall he called me a "confrontational ignoramus" amongst other stuff. We went elsewhere leaving this unfortunate scene. Now of course this isn't the fault of the cafe, but keep it in mind, especially if disabled, if you want to avoid a distressing experience with the village idiot

What a lovely place , we did book and arrived early and were allowed to be seated , but they had squeezed us into a tiny two seat table which was ok as there were only two of us but seeing as there was hardly any other tables occupied we should of be allowed to choose and a window seat would of been nicer as mums birthday gift. The table they put us in was right next to the walkway up the stairs to the loo . The afternoon tea itself was very nice and the cakes were delicious I choose the vegan flapjack , I highly recommend that one . The staff themselves seemed a little stressed which was strange as not busy . We only asked a question as to Where the town hall was for the big breakfast and the waitress didn’t know snd had to ask and a woman snapped and said I have to get the phone first then il answer your question , but another nice waitress stepped in and knew the answer and was very polite . We will return most probably as I like their light lunches. Hello Mrs mb 2015, Thank you for your 4 star review. I do remember your visit to the tea shop on Monday, as it was myself who showed you to your table. At the time I did explain we hadn’t set your table for afternoon tea, as you were very early, but showed you to your seats. Had I known you weren’t comfortable at the table I would have more than happily moved you. I would also like to apologise that a team member snapped at you, when you asked for help, this will be investigated personally by myself. I am glad I appear at the right time to step in and help with directions. In regards to the tea it’s self, I’m so pleased you enjoyed it, especially our gluten free vegan flapjack, and that you were able to enjoy our “Joly June” offer of buy one get one half price on our afternoon tea, which I’m sure made the birthday treat even better. We hope to see you again soon. Kindest regardsHayley Manager.

.......Is this lovely little restaurant. The pasta dishes are fantastic in particular the seafood selection. The coffee is great especially the flat white. I don’t mind paying a the price price if the quality of coffee served is especially good. There is a lot of competition in this area for good food especially with the Firehouse just down the road, but the Green Lemon holds itself up well. To here’s to its continued success.

The style and decor looked lovely so I was keen to try the place out having just moved to the area. I planned for myself and 3 year old daughter to have some brunch but disappointingly it didn't work out that way.Upon opening the front door two yappy small dogs came bounding out the door at my daughter as we stood on the pavement. She is nervous of dogs. I was expecting to be told 'oh they are just being friendly' which is the standard response from dog owners who don't appreciate the anxiety many people feel when dogs run at them (me included) - plus what adult would want two sets of teeth in your personal space and barking at you at head height (as that's what it is like for a 3 year old). She leapt back terrified and I had to swoop her up for fear of her jumping backwards into the stream of traffic immediately behind us. I was pretty fuming because of this. The man came to the door, no apology - just looking grumpy. I asked if the dogs would be out in the cafe as my daughter is nervous around them and gruffly he said he could tie them up. I still should have just walked away there and then but despite feeling really angry at the dogs being allowed to run at my daughter like that the British politeness in me meant I felt obliged to go in and buy something (what!?!).I went to the counter and he just looked at me. I reluctantly ordered the bare minimum with no smile from the man. I passed him a £10 and he brusquely asked if I had anything smaller as he didn't have many £5 notes. I didn't. He gave me a £5 note in my change. Maybe £5 notes are saved for customers who don't disrespect the dogs but it made me feel even more like my business wasn't welcome. I just drank my drink quickly and left half of it. I barely spoke to my poor daughter as I was seething about the experience. Why I left offering a cheery 'thank you' is beyond me.Having seen other comments on here I suppose I should take heart that maybe it wasn't entirely my reaction to his dogs that caused the man to be 'grumpy' as it sounds like his character. However, the quality of the service makes a huge difference as to whether I return somewhere and this has unfortunately put me off coming back. This is a real shame as it is clearly liked by other customers and the menu looked really good.We are very sorry that you didn’t enjoy your experience at the cafe yesterday especially as your daughter was frightened by the pug and jack Russell. I am especially sorry that you took my manner as grumpy. I’d like to assure you it was not intentional or personal or in any way related to your arrival. It was probably related to it being our first morning back after an attempted break-in with three bricks through the door. Unfortunately we do have two small dogs in the cafe ( not in the kitchen) and are a dog friendly cafe. We are always happy to tie the dogs up if someone is scared or does not like dogs. I am sorry if you think that we did not act quickly enough in tying them up. Unfortunately you were followed in by a young family that know the dogs and tend to make a fuss of them. We did tie them up as soon as we could retrieve them and are sorry if the delay caused any distress. Unfortunately with no bank in town change and change management is an issue, especially first thing. Once again I apologise if you considered my question brusque. I would hate your experience of Art Tea Zen to colour your opinion of Langport or this part of Somerset. It is a wonderful, friendly community with much to offer a young family such as yourselves. You’ve definitely made the right decision moving here. If you ever want to come back to the cafe you’d be very welcome, just give us a call or pop in first so we can tie our dogs up and advise if there are any other dogs visiting. Andy Waller. Owner
