This small restaurant is located in the middle of Koyasan curve road city. They provide only 5-10 kind of food in a list menu. The best I love is Curry on rice , very home made taste and it just feels great. The woman owner is very nice.Try the beef on rice too. (Kyudon i guess)
Top 10 Japanese food in Iwaizumi-cho, Iwate Prefecture, Japan
Needed a coffee and light lunch before we checked in at the temple. This place was right across the street from the bus stop. Had a really great sandwich like Mom used the make. The crust cut off the white bread with an omelet, ham, and vegetables on it. It was absolutely delicious. The coffee here was the best I've had in Japan; strong. The owner was very gracious and friendly.

Small Cafe&Restaurant next to the Family Mart
We stayed in Koyasan for 2 nights - the first night we had a traditional meal in a temple but for the second we wanted to explore the town. We found this place and it was great - lots of delicious Japanese-Western fusion dishes (at much better value than the traditional temple meal) which we shared amongst a group of friends. Not many places are open for dinner in Koyasan but this was a great shout - we would definitely recommend.

The smell from the street called us to discover this small place. We tried the different udon they had (3 dishes) and all three were perfect. Also the japanese sweets they offered. Reasonable price and great taste, but they can add more dishes on the menu...the place seems new, so hopefully they will work on it!

We've had a superb sandwich for just a few hundred yens, absolutely worth the price.Drinks are expensive but there is free water too.The two ladies at charge were lovely, just like most japanese people we're finding on our trip.

At the other end of town from our lodgings at Yochi-In, this bohemian cafe was thankfully open and much welcome after our stunningly beautiful and highly memorable early-morning walk amongst the beautiful shrines of this wonderful hill-top town. The team behind the counter were charming and the whole place was very engaging. The coffee was good if not great and the chocolate cake made an agreeable substitute for a unhealthy English fry-up.
