An attempt at a French style cafe situated on the temple walk between Kita Kamakura and Kamakura. The cakes are nice, as is the coffee. However, don't ask for anything in coffee terms that is not an espresso or a cappuccino - they can't do it. Not particularly efficient service and pricey.

It's literally a minute from the busy Main Street. It looks like a urban area then suddenly you see this place. It's a new building fitted out almost convincingly as an old antique in fact they also sell antiques. Food was not bad. Drink was ok. But the location and feeling is why this is a great place to visit. Please don't go here and ruin it by making it busy.

I was really happy to discover this gem of a café next to Kamakura station (right at the back). I wanted a coffee quite badly, it was late afternoon and I was quite done with the Starbucks, so this place was a great discovery. It's pretty small, which is why I got to sit at the counter, where I managed to see the magic happen. They make all sorts of interesting blends in a manner I have not seen before; I discovered that a bit too late, after I just ordered a cappuccino, but I did enjoy watching them prepare all sorts of lovely potions for other customers. Though I did not try any, they also serve cake and some light food. The only thing I did not like was people smoking inside, but this is Japan for you. I would definitely come back and try one of their blends.

Pacific Drive-in is a relatively new restaurant located in the large beachside parking lot nearest Shichirigahama Station on the Enoden line. It is designed like a beachside diner with indoor and outdoor seating areas. I have only ever sat outside but when I go I feel relaxed and comfortable, whether I just stopped in alone after a bike ride, or if I went with a group of friends to catch up. They serve coffee and great scones, pancakes, breakfast and lunch plates and sandwiches and the prices are reasonable for a beachside restaurant. Like most places in this area,..it can get really busy on the weekends. If you don't need to sit at a table, you can order a cup of coffee and scone and just enjoy it at the beach (but beware of the hawks).Know before you go:On Sundays there is a flea market in this same parking area cutting the available spaces in half. If you come by car after 8:30am you may have to wait in line for parking. They open early on the weekends 8am-8pm all season, but not until 10am weekdays in the late fall and winter. This restaurant is at ground level, and is literally in a parking lot so very accessible

This restaurant on the second floor of a building just down the main shopping street on the way to the ocean is worth finding. They serve four curries on rice with multiple accompaniments. We had the excellent chicken and Japanese mixed meat curries. There is a strong focus on natural ingredients and careful attention to details. Food is prepared in an open kitchen. All the pottery, utensils, and even the servers clothes are available for sale. Homemade ginger ale was unusual and delicious. Far exceeds other restaurants in the area focused primarily on tourist food. Only open until 6 PM.
