Things to do in Juneau
A local friend took us here so that we'd have a nice quiet place to chat, and it fit the bill. It's located in an office building a few blocks away from the tourist-laden streets near the cruise port. There are a few tables off to the side so we were comfortable and it was quiet. The regular coffee was perfectly good and the staff member who we got it from was very nice and even kept the half and half in the fridge so that it was nice and fresh to add to my cup. I drank the whole cup!We didn't get anything to eat so I can't comment there. Note: I accidentally clicked on the food rating and couldn't get it to clear on this TA page so not wanting to give it a one-star "terrible" rating I ended up giving it five stars. I really meant to skip that rating! As a quiet little spot away from the crowds it was a welcome respite at this cafe.

We had the bacon cheeseburger, the bean soup and the milk shake and they were all very tasty. Prices are reasonable and the service is friendly and prompt. The menu is fairly simple and the place is plain but it is well worth a stop for a very satisfying lunch.

My wife and I recently spent the day in Juneau. We asked one of the locals where to eat and he recommended this place. The food was great and reasonably priced. The menu had a decent variety to choose from and the portions were large. The atmosphere is a nice sit down restaurant. Anyone who wants to get away from the tourist crowds and have a great meal should try this place.

Since taking over for Southeast Alaska Waffle, Gonzo has done a great job. They have expanded and varied the menu. I wish they would bring back the multi-berry waffle with whipped cream but the remaining selection is very good. The view of Auke Bay is always pleasing although some new trees have been planted across the street that will block the view. The City should remove them!! A great place for a waffle breakfast. Too bad it is closed on Monday and Tuesdays.

I was brought here by a local, who considers Sandpiper Cafe to be the best breakfast spot in Juneau. And breakfast was excellent! My only complaint is that I couldn't come back again to sample more of the menu.
