If you have the misfortune of staying at the Travelodge in Ilford, don't waste your money getting a pathetic snack box. Just walk 50 yards up the road to the Snax Bar cafe. They have an extensive menu and many breakfast options, including choose your own breakfast. And for the same price as the snackbox or maybe even slightly cheaper, you get a hot meal and a hot drink. Service was great also.

First time at Rowans. Heard positive things and recommendations by many friends so headed down for Saturday brunch. We werenât disappointed, the food was amazing and the service exceptional. There was a family feel to the place with the manager taking time to sit and chat with his regulars. Wide range of fresh food on the menu, my boyfriend had the chicken and steak club sandwich which came with a generous portion of chips and I went for one of the special offers from the board. Very impressed, Saturday brunches at Rowans will be a regular event for us!!!

A charming and intimate bistro serving many different dishes originating from along the Mediterranean coast. We had great service from the really friendly waiting staff and the food was excellent. The menu has a varied range of dishes to suit most tastes, all of which we tried were thoroughly enjoyed. They all felt very authentic and original. The price was very reasonable as well, especially considering the quality of the food.P.S. the best Calamari ever

The Basement Shisha Lounge has taken over a year to setup and launch. It is like no other social venue in London and the Home Counties. We are selling an experience, not just the amazing setting, the beautiful decor, zoned areas for the discerning guests
Great flavours, very attentive staff. Recently redecorated which has made the place more appealing too!

Come here really often as all the staff are lovely. However, came here a few weeks ago and got some more hot water for my tea, the owner went and got it, he put boiling water in a milk jug and passed it over the head of the child without the handle, I took it presuming it would not be burning hot as presumed it would have milk in. As could not drop it as over a childâs head I ended up burning my fingers and spilling over hand. The owner was unapologetic and completely rude. He ruins this establishment. Someone else had to get me ice and burn cream. Absolutely disgusted, absolutely no front of house skills. I will not be returning if he is in the cafe. This in no way reflects the other staff who are lovely.

The Boathouse Cafe and Bar is Barking's only riverside venue. With a large terrace, adjacent to the river, we serve light snacks, such as sandwiches made to order, sell locally produced craft beers, Doppio coffee, locally made cakes and terrific cocktails
Possibly THE best soup ever...full of chunks of lamb with potatoes and dumplings. This plus the great salads, great tea, paninis plus a table overlooking the river. They even arranged for the sun to shine. The cheerful greetings from Catilin and Derrek made us welcome and I would have ordered the soup without the sample Derrek proudly offered us...but the taste clinched the deal.We were recommended to checking out the website for details about the folk evenings and it is a great find in a rapidly developing area.Check it out while you can still get inThank you for your lovely review - and we shall pass on your delightful praise to our Sweet Mada!Hope to see you again soon. Regards Alison and Derrick
