Popped in to Wendy's Community Cafe today with my wife and daughter for three bowls of delicious pumpkin soups and other bits and pieces. First time in here having heard lots of positive comments from friends in the village. Colourful and funky inside, friendly welcome, great service, very welcoming and lovely food. Got there around 12 midday and it was full 30 mins later as word has evidently spread about this place with a nice mixture of locals, mums and dads with children, bikers, walkers, etc. Well done Wendy and all the staff for putting an empty and unused building on the map, just wish you were there years ago when my daughter went to school and played tennis next door. We'll be back!

Our flagship coffee shop in Barrs Yard Hungerford is the perfect place to meet and enjoy an Honesty coffee or choose from a selection of teas or soft drinks. Our menu consists of light snacks and lunches such as soups, paninis, sausages rolls, charcuterie
This could be a convenient stopping place if you're driving along the A4 or if you're visiting the surrounding niche shops. However, I find it quite dark and quiet, with not much comfortable seating. It is very echoey - there is an upstairs gallery and I have clearly heard conversations from upstairs while waiting at the counter. There are limited food options - soup, paninis, sandwiches, cakes etc. They don't make the sandwiches to order so it's luck if they have what you want in the fridge and you don't get a choice of bread. Other items on the board are not always available. Staff are nice though.

My partner and I visited Rafter's for an afternoon tea recently. The setting, price, selection and quality were all good but in my opinion let down by the owners dog, although cute, being on the premises, sat on a chair and occasionally getting down for a walk around I didn't think it appropriate to have an animal in a place that served food.

I had the pleasure of catching up with an old friend who works locally. She introduced me to Bradys which is situated in the unlikely place above Heron Gate Leisure. It's walkable from town but also has parking.Gorgeous food, delightful staff, an upstairs and outdoors spacious balcony where we sat in the sun. PLUS - books...., donations to charity! What more can you ask for. GREAT prices! We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit hoping for sunnier days so we can use the balcony moreMany thanksSue

Cobbs used to be so good it was one of our âgo toâ places in the area but we have visited yet again and been very disappointed with the food and service served in what now is a noisy atmosphere. Where did it all go wrong? I think after yet another bad experience over the passed couple of years we will probably give up on Cobbs which is such a shame as it should be good.Thank you for your feedback. Nothing upsets us more than to read a review like this. It would be great if you were able to email us on [email protected] as we would like to speak to you in person about this.We hope to hear from you soon

We had lunch, (mushroom omelette, chips and salad) lovely and hot. Fascinating pictures adorn the walls. A great selection of ice creams and soft ice cream (my favourite a 99). A full selection of delicious cakes and their huge meringues which I just had to have so it was boxed up and I had it on my return home. Staff were excellent.

Vibrant cafe in the heart of Hungerford serving a selection of teas and coffees, healthy smoothies and juices and wide range of nutritious lunch dishes and cakes catering to a range of dietary needs.
Eliane is a real treasure, a great cafe / restaurant that's good for lunch, dinner, teas, snacks, cakes and take-outs. There's a huge range of freshly prepared, wonderfully presented, very tasty and healthy dishes, with a wealth of organic, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options -and plenty of dishes with fish or meat too.The atmosphere and layout is very open and welcoming, the staff are knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful and the prices are pretty reasonable given the generous portions and the quality of both the food and the service.Everyone found something to their taste. I had a vegetable curry with chick peas and "confetti rice" (two colours of rice with peas and spices), a delicious potato cake with lots of fresh herbs and a side of crushed peas with almond flakes and chillies. My partner loved her kedgeree with large flakes of haddock, rice, peas, onions, turmeric and a whole poached egg. My nephew wolfed his scrambled eggs but left most of the green salad (as small boys often do) and my niece was so busy putting far too much sugar and honey into her porridge that she didn't notice that her bananas and berries were slowly disappearing westwards... And my mother declared her quiche with squash and kale to be very good too. Even my religiously carnivorous brother-in-law declared his chicken curry very good indeed and ate all his vegetables and rice along with it!We will definitely eat at Eliane's again the next time we are in Hungerford!Dear Graham, thank you for taking the time to leave such a comprehensive review for us at Eliane. Itâs sounds like you and your guests made great use of everything we have to offer, and we are delighted that everyone enjoyed their meals and also that everyone found something that suited their needs and tastes...We pride ourselves in using locally fresh and organic ingredients where we can in our dishes, and our cakes are baked on site which results in great tasting dishes and bakes with gluten free, vegan and sugar free options... Thank you also for your comments on our lovely team, they do such a great job and are passionate about providing excellent customer service. We do hope to see you again soon at Eliane,Best regards Team Eliane
