I enjoyed a peaceful breakfast here today, with plenty to choose from on the menu. I had a medi breakfast which was vegetarian and came with all my favourite things- eggs, avocado, mushrooms and halloumi! I suggest removing the side salad fr9m the plate though as it doesn't really go with a breakfast. Would definitely visit again.

Inspired by French cuisine and Parisienne bistro style. Cafe Rouge is your local bistro to enjoy delicious food and gorgeous glass of wine.
Food was great, Camebert for starters was perfectly melted. Sirloin steak was just melt in the mouth.Along with great food I have taken time to write this due to the excellent service from our waitress. I didnt take down her name but we were sat down just after 12 on the table for 2 by the blossom tree. She was friendly, attentive and efficient. We often frequent the MK Cafe rouge but the food and staff in Hitchin far surpasses MK. Well done team!

This tiny tea room is like stepping inside my gran's house. it is full of old fashioned items. A group of us were having afternoon tea, being lactose intolerant we informed them and they made a beautiful dairy free afternoon tea for me. Hand made cakes which tasted delicious, very impressed and they staff were lovely and warm towards us.

This year I have decided to try and support independent businesses instead of the big chains. I had been impressed by what I had read recently regarding their amazing work for the local community over Christmas so decided to have breakfast there, and so glad I did. The staff were very friendly and the choice on the menu was huge. Breakfast was lovely, tasty, filling and good value. Will certainly go there again.

Have eaten lunch here on many occasions and have enjoyed in every way. Charming atmosphere and a welcome change from the coffee chain type venues. Very pleasant staff, who listen to customer requests and apply effortlessly. Quite a varied menu, with food quantity and quality excellent. The delicious smoked salmon salad and the grilled sardines on toast are always a favourite for my husband and I, not to mention the mouth-watering, home-made cakes on offer, if you still have room.Love the large Teddy Bear in the WC - always have to say hello to him!!Thanks 'Team' and see you again soon.
