Staff were friendly enough, but my main course (the trout) was quite bland, and the portion very small - and I had deliberately chosen the "large" portion size. Looking back at the many 'excellent' reviews, I have to confess that I'm suspicious: look at them yourself and make your own judgement. The view was wonderful, but would I go back again myself? Sorry, but no.

We ate here twice over our 3.5 day stay! The first time my wife and I each got our own French fries (mine were garlic fries for no extra cost!). The guy working was very nice and friendly, I can't remember his name but he was from Portugal. He told us that on Sunday's burgers and fries were on sale. Of course on Sunday we came back and split a burger and each got our own fries (again go with garlic!). It was the best food for the best price we had during our stay!Thanks a lot for your visit in our cafe! Great to hear that you had a good time there and that you enjoyed our homemade Eiger fries with garlic :-)

Great cafe and restaurant, off the beaten path. The owner and host, Thomas, makes you feel at home and treats you like family. You may have to call ahead to confirm if its open, but it is worth the visit. The inside of the restaurant is really cosy and typically Swiss. The patio is big and offers the best views of Grindelwald.
