Great place for breakfast. Reasonable prices and great service, although you may have to wait a bit on busy mornings, but well worth the wait. The only drawback is parking is on the street and you have to pay the meter.

I was so hoping that Bonnie Bâs would be that great hometown spot to hang out and grab a bite, but it has a ways to go before this local would consider it a keeper. It feels makeshift in this restaurant. A handmade sign on the bathroom door, a hole in the wall above the entryway, a back corner with no storage where boxes of chips and sodas are stacked on the floor. The open kitchen concept doesnât do it for me and the counter around the kitchen looks messy and disorganized. The walls look empty and the decor needs to be focused on. The orange juice was served in a bottle instead of a glass. It doesnât feel as if they have settled in yet.The food was marginal. I got the omelet special and there just wasnât a lot of flavor to it. I never use salt and I was reaching for it. The home fries were just okay, but again, not much flavor and I salted them too. My son ordered the pancakes which should be a straight forward menu item. They were unusually thick and dense. The top was soft, but the bottom was hard making it difficult to cut them with a fork. They smelled a lot like cake batter when they came to the table. I asked my son for a taste and they were overwhelmingly sweet. He had ordered a 3 stack and he only ate one of them. Heâs a real pancake lover, so it was disappointing for him.The waitstaff were very friendly and helpful, which was a plus. I also love the homey touch of mismatched coffee mugs. I enjoyed the coffee which was hot and strong. The pricing seemed okay and there were a lot of menu choices. During our meal the cook yelled âI know!â at one of the waitstaff who was just checking on a side order of bacon for us. That really did it for me and I am not wanting to go back any time soon.I have written a lot of trip advisors reviews. Rarely have I felt that a restaurant deserves a below average rating. This is a new business in an old spot where other owners such as the Brass Buckle have done very well. I am hoping that they pay attention to the details, work out the bugs, and are able to thrive.

I had driven by Rise Above bakery wanting to go in several times. Finally, around 9am one morning I saw the open sign and went in to buy a freshly baked sesame bagel with cream cheese and a coffee. I had also ordered a chocolate croissant to take with me for later, which I had to remind them to give me before leaving. I also waited for some freshly brewed coffee, all worth the wait. I highly recommend this bakery. Itâs a clean, welcoming, warm bakery and Iâm wanting to go back to and indulge myself in everything they bake there. The bagel I ate had a crunchy outside and chewy soft texture in the middle with a natural nutty grain taste. Loaves of freshly baked breads were coming out of the ovens and smelling up the place. I could sit there all day and eat. I couldnât wait to eat the chocolate croissant and ate the chocolate croissant in the car just after leaving the bakery. I stuffed my mouth with its crispy outside layers of flaky pastry that melted in my mouth and the chocolate just added to it. Iâm a baker and itâs the BEST croissant Iâve ever eaten! Itâs also a bakery that supports other local farms and businesses and I will be supportive of Rise Above. Delicious and some of the best of baked goods

We wanted dinner and weren't sure whether this would suffice.... it passed our expectations. The menu is limited, it is a small cafe after all but they do have wine and beer. When we entered there were two people behind the counter. The woman was a bit abrupt with us at first but warmed up with time. After we ate, we revisited the counter and the young man served us free samples of beer and a conversation about motorcycles. The procedure is to go in, order, get your drinks, sit at the table of your choice and they will bring your meal. If you sit by the window you get to listen to the river. It was cool out so we shut the window. The atmosphere is cozy and darker, when it is dark out. The windows are large so it is probably light filled during the day. There is a lot of dark wood on the walls and furniture. At the end of the dining area is a door into the bookstore next door. I was too hungry to check it out while we waited and by the time I was ready, the store was closed. Apparently the bookstore will stay open later than posted depending on the flow of people. The food is very very tasty. My partner and I both got peanut-ginger udon noodles. It is a great combination of flavors. One surprise is that it was cold, I was expecting hot. Even so, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Another in our party got the apple-cheddar breadboard and was very happy. It came with a salad. We also ordered a garden salad with balsamic vinaigrette. It came dressed and was excellent! We get desserts about 25% of the time. They had several gluten-free muffin and cookie options and vegan cupcakes. We couldn't resist this vegan offer. The chocolate-mint was my favorite although the frosting was a bit sweet for my taste and it was a tiny bit dry. We did get the lemon as well. This was a bit moister. I also got a tea which was named something like "cold buster". My draw was that it contained anise hyssop. It was from a local company and was delicious.I definitely will be returning to check out the warm brown rice salad.
