Great location, great food and friendly people. I recommend the veggie burger. Walk from Fredrikstad or take the free ferry. Also have a walk on the Island and see what it has to offer.

You don't have to be there for the football, since the meeting facilities are well suited for all sorts of group meetings, but you can get the best view from here when ever there is a football match on.

Reputed to be the best bakery in town, we were disappointed. Long queues, no prices displayed at all, no items described and carrot cake tastes a day old. Chocolate cake was fresher and buns were fresh. Only one dirty toilet for all despite large seating areas. Dirty tables outside. I consider prices very high especially considering you even pour your own coffee from a thermos flask and tidy your tray yourself. kr63/£6 for a cake should give a better experience. The locals clearly don't mind paying despite not knowing the price, perhaps visiting because of the old reputation and not current experience?

Jeg ble meget overrasket når jeg kom til denne plassen. Kjempe deilig mat som var lagd på kort tid, passet bra da jeg var sulten. Hyggelige ansatte som gir mer følelse av åvære på besøk. Koselig hjemmefølelse. Bare grønt blir nok besøk flere ganger.

This could be the most beautiful garden in the Old Town if they hade done a little gardening.Understand tat things are natural,but faded flowers could have been removed.Sunday at 10 o`clock we sat dovn in beautiful sun.A wet blanket gave us the frist bad impression.My wife trousers where soak wet.We went inside to order food and drinks.Sorry we have no food,the cook is on holiday one waiter explained.So we just ordered one beer and a cup of coffee.Unfortunately there was a quarter cup left but we where told that they would make more.We saw no coffee during our stay.After a while a waiter came out with two food plates,and we wonder how come?In the cafe again we asked how other guests could have food a not us. The male waiter said he had not been informed,so he had only a small piece of cake left.His college contacted him and said that they had food???!!! The responsible for this place could have made this to the best place in the Old Town,but with this kind of staff,impossible.We do not understand how many Norwegian restaurants can survive with this kind of staff!Just unbelievable.It seems that to many in this busiess are unqualified and miss the right attitude to work in these places.Verry sorry to see how a big potential is taken vare of!

Visited the area for a wedding and came across this lovely place when asking for directions to the train station.The service was excellent and everyone was really nice and although it was closing time they ordered pizzas for us from another place and ensured we got them. Their willingness to help went way beyond what we would normally expect and we are truly grateful.Great drinks, cozy place that made you feel at home. This is a very popular and relaxed location for a bite to eat. As my Norwegian language skills are lacking I followed those already sitting at the tables and ordered beer with an order of waffles. It was a good but unusual combination. Besides the waffles, the salads and soups looked like a good choice. Beer with Waffles are never wrong :) Thank you very much for your friendly review.

A vide variety of snacks, including exclusive chocolates, jams, and other goodies, not recommendable if you´re on diet.Their cakes are fantastic, and the service is superb. The employees have the ability to listen to the customer and deliver according to specifications.Their service for arranging catering to parties is highly recommended, to all sorts of parties from weddings to anniversaries.
