On our holiday we passed Foxton and de Molen and The Dutch oven. They serve âkrokettenâ and also, have âbitterballenâ although bitterballen in The Netherlands is a snack with beer and not food with fries. The kroketten were very good. The staff is very friendly and we enjoyed enormously that so far from we had some real Dutch food. Well done!

Open 7 days. Coffee, brunch, lunch dinner. Craft beer, cocktails, pizza, famous SANDY doughnuts. Private functions also available.
On a busy January holiday, Foxton Beach was buzzing and the most difficult challenge was to find a car park within walking distance of this cafe. We were pleased to find tables available - the cafe may look fairly small from the outside but has lots of seating - both indoors and out the front by the road. The staff coped well with the crowds - we were immediately told what items on the menu were no longer available, and we were impressed with how rapidly our food came out. There are both menu options (some brunch items, salads, pizzas and other lunch dishes) and some cabinet items, especially sweet. Our meals were well presented and interesting. We especially enjoyed the seafood chowder. We really appreciated the fact that this cafe posted its holiday time opening days and times on facebook so that we knew it was worth the trip. Too many cafes donât do this. Prices are fairly steep and on the public holiday there was a 15% surcharge. There is also only one toilet so was quite a line-up for that. However we would happily return - maybe on a quieter day when we will combine a meal here with a walk on the beach.

I was quite impressed with my experience at O.B.E. MY 'chicken la orange' main was delish and my friend had the salmon main which he enjoyed too. Desserts of Eton mess and the whittakers choc were yum also. Great surroundings and couldn't fault their friendly customer service.
Millside Cafe opened on the 18th November 2017 in support of de Molen, Foxton's iconic windmill. Situated inside Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom, Millside Cafe offers a relaxed atmosphere with a selection âof cabinet food and both hot and cold beverages. Enjoy a
Went here today with walking group friends after a long walk around Foxton. I ordered a cheese & cheese toasted sandwich (along with 4 of my friends) which was very tasty. The flour for the bread they served is milled at De Molen, the Dutch windmill next door, and was extremely nice. Good coffee and friendly staff. We all said we would go there again. Thanks so much for your comments. It's a great walk.
