Things to do in Flat Rock
The owner is originally from Chicago but has lived in a number of locations and has traveled extensively. Opening this cafe, named after his dog, fulfills a lifelong dream of providing good cheap eats to regulars and visitors alike. Nothing fancy but tasty breakfast and lunch offerings. Cafe has a small menu but also features daily specials that are quite good and inexpensive. All breakfasts come with a small glass of orange juice and an appetizer. Lunches come with a cup of soup and dessert.

They have beautiful muffins, desserts, interesting sandwiches. Large parking lot to accommodate shoppers and diners. I had something of a sampling, as I was with a large party who prearranged the food. I particularly enjoyed the Wild Rice with Cranberries and the Sunshine Slaw. Both items I had never had before. They have salads, wraps, an unusual broccoli cornbread, and desserts. The dessert for us was three small samplings of cake with a raspberry drizzle. Light, but flavorful. Very nicely decorated inside. Great social environment which seemed popular with locals. Reservations accepted for large groups.

Hendersonville's first craft coffee roaster. Roasting & brewing all single origin, consciously sourced coffees and delicious pastries, focusing on the "farm to mug" experience.
I am an admitted coffee snob. I such a coffee snob I won't drink Starbucks because it is crap. This place is the real deal. Awesome beans from many different places all roasted by a master who knows how to bring out the best flavors in every bean he roasts. If you are serious about coffee this is the roaster for you.

Locally owned mom-and-pop restaurant does breakfast and lunch. Sat up at the food bar really enjoyed watching the owner she cooks everything by herself. My omelette was fantastic and the tater tot's were cooked perfect. My breakfast came out quickly but they did warn me when their really busy you may have to wait a little on your food. Believe me it is well worth the wait. The wait staff was super friendly and they all seem to help each other out to make it a good experience.

Serving a casual sit down or takeout breakfast or lunch with additional outdoor dining.
Went for breakfast a few days ago and everything was fine, the service excellent. The name of the place is from a Beetles song and the place is surrounded Beetles memorabilia.I could not find a simple standard breakfast however, no corn beef hash, no hash browns or regular potatoes. Tried the pork liver too and didnât care for it.Still, the place is worth trying, just not your standard fare.

Honey and Salt opened in March 2017 and is located in the Village of Flat Rock in the beautiful mountains of Western NC. We source locally and organically - offering farm to table breakfast and lunch. Morning standards, like pancakes and egg plates, share
This was our first visit here and we will believe back. Friends had recommended it and I am glad they did! Instead of waiting for a table which would have been a half hour or more, we opted for a window stool.I had the Greenhouse which consisted of:potato hashcake, herbed goat cheese, roasted veggies, egg, gruyere, avocado, dill & creamy basil sauce. It comes in a small skillet and was the perfect size and was delicious! My husband got the quinoa bowl which had seasonal roasted veggies, miso broth, egg, avocado, roasted tomatoes, creamy basil sauce.Give it a try because you will not be disappointed.
