On the main track of town, this cafe sits among several other stores and shops. Large windows provide lots of natural light. The furniture is modern and simple. The coffees are excellent and served with artistry and care. There is a good selection of bakery goods and ice creams. The place serves breakfast (try the eggs Benedict!), as well as light meals for lunch. There are wines and beer on the menu. On the side, there are a few outdoor tables and benches, for enjoyment during the warmer seasons.

Boutique Hotel in Featherston. 19th Century industrial steam-punk design. Restaurant and bar serving delicious home cooked fare and serving some of the finest food and beverage the Wairarapa region has to offer.
This classical hotel was built around 1868 and opened to the public shortly thereafter. It sits on the North side of Featherston, close to the train tracks. The rooms are old fashioned, with lots of wood-paneling, large, comfortable beds, ornate, gilded mirrors, crystal chandeliers, en suite bathrooms with shower and/or tub and quaint, old-fashioned art on the walls. Some rooms have desks and chairs. The restaurant serves elaborate, fine food, with the corresponding selection of local wines. For a town like Featherston, this is an excellent hotel.
Keep an eye out for the "Baker" sign as you are driving through Featherston. They are tucked off the road - there is a farmers market in the car park on Saturdays. Try the blue cheese and beef pies - this at the top of the best pie ever list. They make a range of breads including a really really good rye sourdough.
