Things to do in Drumnadrochit
When you have a captive audience, you have two choices: to be the best you can be and leave them feeling delighted with the experience or to be a disorganised, chaotic mess that overcharges and leaves the audience wishing you'd fall in the loch. Cobbs go for the second option. As they are the only source of hot food at the exhibition centre, people crowd in before going on the loch cruises, while having a break etc. So to only have one person serving at one till while one other member of staff makes the coffees is nuts. Add to that no prices on any of the sandwiches or paninis make it a guessing game until you are presented with the bill. The tiny self serve area leads to inevitable queues backing up round the tables. The hot food is again unpriced and, when the chips haven't arrived, you pay for it and sit down. And sit down. And go up and ask. And get told "in a minute". Have that on repeat for 20 minutes until you are chewing the table with a combination of hunger and frustration and then you spot people walking past you with plates of hot food, including chips. So you go back to the counter, fighting through the people waiting, get a hapless grin from the original server. Ask the second server who was on the till for your food. Get it slopped onto the plate and then a third member of staff, who has just appeared as if by magic on the till tells you you have to pay for it. Again. Sad really, because it has the potential to be a great little cafe but with its audience there on demand, there's no reason for it to change and people will still leave feeling ripped off.

After walking around Foyers Falls, this is an idea place to stop off for lunch. We drove past it on the way to Foyers, and caught our attention. So on our return we visited and before entering the building we were greeted by some Highland Cows and local deer. The owners have put a lot of attention to detail with the interior work and at the table we sat, there was a framed newspaper cutting about an encounter with Radio DJ Chris Evans. A good venue for lunch.

Located midway between Inverness and Ft Augustus on the southern side of Loch Ness in made a perfect lunch stop with lots of tasty options and friendly staff. The hardest part was choosing from the homemade cakes and slices They even made a great flat white. A walk down to the waterfall across the road made the desert guilt free.

A well-known artisan pottery with a walkers cafe by the Great Glen Way and below a popular mountain path. Teas, good coffee, hot chocolate and Marion's amazing home-made cakes. Open most of the year - ring first in foul weather.
During day 2 of or GGW trek we stumbled upon this quirky little gaff! After following in anticipation the âNearly thereâ signs excitement grew amongst our team! Set in amongst the trees we were greeted by fantastic staff who shared witty banter. 20 quid of uncle Mikes hard earned cash bought five of us 3 of my favourite things, tea - cake & a cheeky short cut back on to the great glen way through his garden! Highly recommend this for refuelling stop and looking at other comments they do have a little dog who was totally placid, clearly he enjoyed the variety of cake as well!! Defiantly a must stop! How very kind of you to write nice words. I have to say that the dog is not native to the Clay Works, and the main furry denizen is a cat of mighty parts and shameless habits! Come and see us again with our without Uncle Mike, God bless him!

With stunning views of the Castle and Loch Ness, this is the perfect spot to sit and relax after a hard day of Nessie spotting! We have an array of teas & coffees, perfectly accompanied by a treat from our cake table or perhaps a scone which are made dail
Arrived towards the end of lunch service but there was still plenty of healthy options. The kids menu (which seems to be in other tourist spots) worked really well, allowing for the choice of five different items. The panini was lovely and fresh. The layout allowed people threw quickly.

Our rental cottage up the lane recommended this new tearoom and we are so thankful. Away from the tourist traps in the village was a delightful tearoom with beautiful views and highland cattle and their calves outside. Gorgeous selection of toasted sandwiches all freshly made with unusual flavours worked a treat. I squeezed in a slice of the hummingbird cake which was also lovely. Add to this they are dog friendly, it was a real winner for us

Stopped for a quick lunch after searching for Nessie on the loch. Food portions were generous and of good quality. Service was also excellent - the cafe was very busy but despite this the staff were very attentive and we felt well looked after.
