Things to do in Devizes
My husband and I like to try out different, independent, cafes and generally stick to coffee but on this occasion decided to treat ourselves to a breakfast. My husband had the double breakfast and I had the standard. It was well presented and, on the whole, the food was lovely but neither of us rated the sausages which were tough (both to cut and eat) and a bit on the spicy side.Based on the above, we would have visited again in the future but we were amazed to find out that there was no customer toilet on the premises and patrons had to take a hike along the road to the nearest ones at Sainsburyâs. I appreciate that it is only a small establishment but the lack of facilities is a major no no and for this reason alone we wonât be returning.

Came here for a coffee while visiting the place. Had to ask for a tray. No tables cleared, so you're expected to sit in other folks mess. Coffee tasted a bit burned in that way that's indicative of a coffee machine badly in need of a clean. Informed that if I wanted hot food there would be a 45 minute wait. This place could be a handy little stop off, if it had adequate staff that are trained. Unfortunately it's letting itself down. Not completely awful but not good in comparison to other branches.

We are new to the area, and having an explore, we came across the Wharf Tea rooms. We were served by a friendly team of people, nothing was too much trouble. My sister had her beagle with us, the staff bought out a dish of water for the dog and we were able to have a dog biscuit for her too! This then enabled us to enjoy our fantastic cakes and afternoon tea.

First time I've been here and I ordered the big breakfast. Now, I like my food and big servings but I only just managed to get through this. There were 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 2 black pudding, 2 eggs, 2 hash browns, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, 2 slices of toast and a pot of tea. All good quality food and for just £7.50! I have no idea why it was so quiet especially on market day but I will definitely retuen. I may go for the smaller breakfast next time though.Thank you very much for taking the time to review jeffersons. We are very pleased you have enjoyed your food. Regards Leander

Set in the grounds of thei dairy farm the glass fronted cafe offers spectacular views and delicious food made from local produce. There are 16 different flavours of ice cream on display which is made on site fresh from their own cows milk. There are child
Visited here a few years ago and it was great. Today was not so good. Ice cream was nothing special. In fact the salted caramel tasted like supermarket bought and was quite expensive. We sat outside and I have never seen so many flies. At one point we counted 18 flies crawling around our table. There was extra entertainment, but it cost £5 per child. Several children were stung by nettles. Not sure I'll be visiting again soon!

Located in the the Market Place, Upstairs at Jacks offers a unique dining experience in Devizes, with views over the Market place, sit and relax over a coffee and breakfast of a morning or visit for a light lunch. Upstairs also transforms into a Tapas bar
Me and friend came here for an evening meal, both being huge Tapas fans. The atmosphere was great, the building is ace and the staff were fantastic. I was however, quite dissapointed in the menu. There was a large ammount of 'fried' tapas on the menu and from what I could gather none of it made on site which is dissapointing. The stuffed peppers were tasty but resembled the ones I normally purchase from the supermarket - so much so that i suspect that is what they are. The Gambas was not Gambas Pil Pil but out of the bag prawns with a bit of a lacklustre pil pil sauce. The menu also had baked camembert which although is great - I wouldn't really call this spanish tapas - maybe there are some other alternatives which could be sued - there are some great cheese tapas dishes out there. Also the mushrooms with manchego was particularly bad - a pot of sauted mushrooms topped with an almost cheddar style of grilled manchego - I actually wonder if it was cheddar?I think this place has some great potential, but I do think the menu could do with a bit of rethink from a chef or someone who knows spanish tapas. And independent cheese dish with figs or honey would be nice. A few more veg dishes would be fantastic, some proper shell on prawns and less of the generic 'purchased' fried goods. There are some great tapas resturants about the in South West these days and its a shame that this doesn't quite live up to expectations.
