Nelly May's Parlour, conveniently situated on The High Street, is a traditional tearoom oozing with olde worlde character and charm - part of the tearoom dates from Tudor times so why not take a break and soak up the atmosphere. A perfect choice for an ex

On a disappointingly damp Monday morning, our small party headed straight to this cafe to await a break in the weather. We ordered coffees, hot chocolate and Earl Grey tea. The drinks were great and they came up pretty quickly despite the fact that the cafe was so busy. My wife and I shared a huge slab of lemon sponge. It was light and fluffy with the creamiest topping. Our friends both had scones with jam and cream â it was disappointing that the gluten free scone was less than fresh. It was a very attractive café with lots of art work and knitted bunting which gave the place a certain quirkiness. There was just one toilet so at busy times there might be a queue. There was a garden with additional seating and a shop to the rear although we didnât makeit out there because of the weather.

Family of 4 ate well for just over £20!. Food was well made, and tasty. Friendly staff, especially the lady who spoke to us about how she started etc. Only thing I'd say is have an option for what egg you can do on the breakfast if possible. I wanted a poached egg but was told they only do fried egg on the veggie breakfast. No big deal, but nice to have the choice. Kids are well too which is always a bonus. Well done

We are a fully licenced cafe in Mortehoe. We specialise in home made goods especially cake all made from scratch, sweet and some savoury options, great artisan coffee and speciality teas. We also do an amazing high tea which is only available by reservati
Found this great cafe by chance after visiting the Mortehoe post office .After getting wet walking on Woolacombe beach we were looking for refreshments. Although the cafe was busy what a warm welcome we got when we walked in. Being gluten free, it is often difficult for me to have a choice other then chocolate brownies, but Will offered me a gluten free scone. What a treat for me to have a proper cream tea. They couldnât do enough for us. Hope to be back before our holiday ends.

Home cooked locally sourced breakfast, meals and snacks. Freshly made smoothies, juices and excellent coffee. Private hire availble. Fully licensed.
Waited at the front of the queue for 10-15 mins without even being looked at or someone saying "we'll be with you in a minute". Eventually ordered two fry ups and had to wait a ridiculous 45 mins for each. The bacon and eggs were burnt/ overdone which was also quite annoying. May have caught them on a bad day but not impressed and would avoid to be honest. We are very sorry to hear of your bad experience at Wild Thyme. It sounds like you visited on a very busy day. We are all trained to let the customer know that "we'll be right with you". Again we are sorry you didn't get this response. Our food is freshly prepared to order and on a busy day you should have been informed that the wait would be longer than usual. It is a shame that your breakfast was not to your liking, if you had told us at the time we would have been happy to offer an alternative or refund.

Situated within a walled garden at the National Trust site of Baggy Point in North Devon. Sandleigh consists of a tea-room and garden surrounding an allotment garden just a few metres away from Croyde beach.
I have titled the review âoh dearâ because if you have seen my previous reviews about Sandleigh Tea Room and Garden you would see they were very positive. However now that the business has been taken over by the National Trust it is lacking its previous service, quality and character. It is such a shame to have seen it become less loved.

Blue Groove in Croyde, North Devon, oozes unique personality and refuses to be put in a box. Take that classic beachy style and add a dose of sophistication, take a cosmopolitan feel and place it among North Devon charm, take a burger and make it gourmet,
We had a great meal here on Sunday night, it was just what we needed after a very wet and windy weekend! The welcome we received on arrival was very warm and friendly, the service was the same and the food was delicious. The cheese burger was homemade and smothered in cheese and barbecue sauce. It was accompanied by crispy onion rings and was very filling. The chicken curry was excellent (much better than the one I cook at home, or so my husband informed me :)! We come to this restaurant for breakfast when we visit each year so it was nice to have a longer stay and be able to sample the dinner menu. There was a real buzz about the restaurant and we really enjoyed our evening - thanks guys!

Iâve been coming to this tearooms on an off for the last four or five years, it never changes and the food is absolutely fantastic, the owner and her staff are so kind and warm and friendly even when theyâre busy. In the days when customer service doesnât seem always that brilliant we found a gem,What lovely people.Thank you so much for this very kind review.
