Bradley Burn Farm Shop and Cafe is open throughout the year. Housed in a beautiful log cabin, tables on our terrace overlook the burn flowing past. Enjoy home cooked fayre beside the wood stove while the kids explore the enclosed play area just outside. F
Well I don't want it make too long but today my family and myself went there and the place is lovely. Nice location. The food is terrible my wife asked for some ham and cheese toast and the bread was the cheapest ever you can buy in a supermarket then they put three pieces of ham on each toast and that was almost four pounds. Can you believe it? then I asked for a lasagna and it was disgusting presentation. It looked like they basically threw a piece of s..t on the plate I say plate because they literally put it on the place round and not square and there was not layers whatsoever in was like glue in a plate. The service is awful, the young girls who work there should go with their mums back again. They literally clean only a small section of a whole table just to pretend that they were cleaning something, now there was a family previous to us there with children and as you expect the mess was noticeable. Please don't go to this place believe me unless they change the management and the cook and the people serving. Disgusting! Thanks for your feedback. We are carrying out a full investigation into all the issues raised. You chose two of our more popular dishes, so I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy them. We'll make sure that our high standards are maintained consistently.

Tealicious Tearoom offers a relaxing atmosphere in which to enjoy the 17 individual blends of loose leaf tea served in a collection of unique fine bone china tea cups. Fresh homemade cakes, scones and sandwiches made to order, makes a visit to Tealicious
If your perception is of tearooms being stuffy and you don't like that this is the place for you. I don't like cake so I avoid tearooms but one of my friends was adamant that we would go here and so three of us trooped in. I don't think I have ever had a more rapturous response. The head lady was bliss, the other customers talked to my friend because she always involves everybody. We had a wonderful couple of hours there. Because it's small everybody can hear you so perhaps apologies to the few who thought we were taking over but we got to talk to a gorgeous baby and her parents, a couple from Leicestershire and the waitress. What a lovely atmosphere. Now for me a meal without wine is breakfast so how relieved was I to find that they do prosecco and not just any prosecco, it was icy cold and dry and the day was warm and bright. The sandwiches were superb. We didn't have cake but if you go I would try some. You will be spoiled for choice.

We had a very nice lunch in this delightful cafe. The home made soup was enjoyable and the sandwiches were freshly made. The staff were very pleasant. And we loved the cafes position in the castle keep.

The outside isn't very welcoming - in fact I thought at first it was closed! Really pleased I checked because the service the food and the prices were all excellent. We were a bit late leaving and the waitress was cleaning the tables - all very thorough, good to see. Full marks!

Came with my wife and 15week old daughter for an early breakfast. We were greeted through the door and the staff immediately made sure we had space and my daughter was comfortable. We enjoyed a lovely sausage and egg sandwich, coffee and a scone with jam and cream and coffee. The food and coffee were perfect and the staff were lovely and made a real fuss of my daughter making sure we had everything she needed. I cannot recommend number 10 cafe enough for the food, service and family friendliness.

Traditional meals and snacks served. Daily Special lunch served. Home-made soup. Homemeade scones and cakes. Home-cooked food. Waitress Service. Outside courtyard and seating at front of premises. Tempting cakes, puddings, desserts and ice cream sundaes.
What a friendly, welcoming cafe. The food is all home-made - the quiches, cakes (including gluten-free), the soup and the artisan bread, baked at their on-the-premises bakery. The owners also own the artisan bakery, Breaking Bread Durham.I don't know how they cooked the mushrooms in the omelette but they were much more tasty than when I make mushroom omelette at home. It is served with an accompanying side salad or a jacket potato as well if you are as hungry as I was. The coffees were also very good.We were in Bishop Auckland to visit Auckland Tower - one of the attractions of the Auckland Project. This cafe is conveniently located just a one-minute walk away from the tower, on the market place itself. For its relaxed friendly ambience and the quality of the food, in my view this is most definitely the best cafe on that market place.

We wanted a light lunch so chose the savoury cream tea of large and beautifully light cheese scones served with cream cheese, cheddar cheese and pickle plus an excellent quality cup of coffee. We were treated to live 50's singing too. Prices are very reasonable.

We went to the monthly comedy night headline Abi Roberts. We had a great night. The food we ordered, blue burgers x 2 and rubs were really tasty and attractively presented. I really recommend the sweet potato chips. The place is super clean, the toilets are big enough for people with mobility problems although I am not sure that a wheelchair would be ok. I would highly recommend the venue and the comedy night in particular which is the last Thursday in the month. Tickets available from the venue or from Hilarity Bites website.

We travel a forty mile round trip to visit Cafe Js and it always provides a great meal. All day breakfast, sandwiches and jacket potatoes amongst other things. I had tuna jacket potato and filter coffee. Simple food but plentiful and good quality. Cake, snacks and nice atmosphere. Papers available. Toilet clean, Cafe has been painted this year and the decor is fresh.
