I had lunch here with my cousin the other day. I had not visited the place for over a year. I am pleased to report that:-the staff is still very friendly and the service still good- the food is still good and reasonably priced- it is still very popular.

A friend and I visited. I arrived first and checked if my friend had arrived. Then had to find my own table and waited 15 minutes for a menu, never mind service. We ordered quiche with salad. The quiche was disgusting , still looking for the spinach and feta. Dry pastry with blob filling. The salad consisted of leaves and 1 chick pea! Poor quality food , bad service and disgustingly overpriced for what we got. Was last at the restaurant about 5 years ago and no reason to return ever.... Good Day,We appreciate you taking the time to give us feedback on your experience at Melissa's Constantia. It is regrettable however that your service was bad and your food was below standard. We take such matters very seriously and therefore we would like to contact you directly. Kindly send your telephone number and email address to [email protected]. Thank you. Kind Regards,Melissa's Management
Vida pioneered the way to bring that authentic European espresso bar culture, infused with that unique energetic African flavour to Constantia Village.
Adore this small chain with locations through the greater Cape Town area - their coffees are quite simply the best! They also offer interesting pastries, wraps and sandwiches to eat in the store or to take away. The staff always seem to enjoy their work and the service is superb. Great coffee bean choices to take home ground to your particular specifications

My daughter and I visit the Spirit Café regularly and I have come to love their quirky and unusual vegetarian foods. Everything is freshly prepared and tastes absolutely great. Wonderful little restaurant with attentive staff. It is not cheap but the quality of the food makes it worth it.

Under the trees in a residential area of Newlands, this cafe is a real find. The building itself is a character Victorian cottage - you can read a little of its backstory on the wall inside the restaurant. There is both indoor and outdoor seating - most of the seating is outdoors either on the verandah or under the trees, but donât worry if - like us - there are no tables available outside and you are taken inside. Thereâs still plenty of character in there, open doors and windows affording an outlook to the outdoors as well as a good view of the amazing baking and other products available. The menu is based around the baking. At lunchtime there was a range of sandwich options. We went for a steak sandwich and a smoked salmon bagel. The former came with fries and the latter with a side salad. An extra treat was the selection of three of their homemade pickles and relishes which came out - in our case, a pineapple relish, tomato chutney and a truly spicy chilli and garlic one. And of course once you have seen the beautiful cakes and sweet treats, it would be very difficult not to try one. We finished with a slice of the enormous and very special carrot cake for my husband, and a piece of the baked cheesecake for me. Accompanied by coffee - which was very good. I was able to get the equivalent of a long black (double shot in a smaller cup) and my husband was able to get his double shot in a larger cup, Americano style. So we were both happy. Good professional service from a knowledgeable team, and some of their homemade items are available for you to take home.

Just had the most fantastic breakfast at this new eatery on the grounds of Constantia uitsig. Wonderful cozy atmosphere in this converted farm cottage. Just the thing for a cold winters day in the cape.Excellent service, very quick food delivery and most importantly very tasty food.I had the frittata which was the best I have had to date. The family had eggs Benedict. My only complaint was the hot chocolate was weak and watery. Will definitely be back.

We visited the Lime Tree Cafe a couple of weeks back, craving pizzas specifically. It was a recommendation from my husband's father, who lives in Bergvliet and visits the Lime Tree quite often. Sadly, we left really disappointed. The selection of pizza is very limited and, besides that, when the pizzas arrived, both my husbands and my pizzas were substandard - both in terms of flavour and in terms of composition. My husband's pizza was made using pretty poor quality meat, that was then slathered with fake-tasting barbecue sauce. We didn't even want to eat the leftover pizzas the next day. I can't speak for the rest of the menu - this is specifically related to the quality of the pizza. However, it is enough to stop us from going back unfortunately. The service is however efficient and friendly.

Always one of our favourite breakfast haunts, Tashas has disappointed for 2 weeks running now. Firstly a usually chosen menu item was not nearly as good as usual (husband), secondly a favourite menu item has been removed from the menu and the nearest similar one was nowhere near as good. That was the first day. Second attempt, my daughter, having 'lost 'her first choice off the menu tried a new item. A wrap came as a flat, baked to hard brittleness disc, mimicking a pizza base, with too much raw red onion mixed in with the other toppings. Uggh too much raw onion in the mouth. Service was very very slow (restaurant was almost empty on a Monday morning early). Generally a drop-off going on here. Come on Tashas, pick up the happy place please.

Four & Twenty is a Cafe & Pantry. We have created a space in which the adoration of food is center stage and the utter joy of living is celebrated as a way of life. The food is as playful and quirky as it is passionate and skillful - and the menu changes
My girlfriends and I met for breakfast and share these sentiments. The place is so cute, love the set up and decor and the atmosphere is the perfect balance of chic yet warm and relaxed. Good variety of great dishes at excellent prices, however the food itself was...well...meh. I gave this feedback to the waitress as well - it looked so pretty on the plate but the flavour was so average. We didn't experience a single thing on our plates that raised our brows in delight, made us moan or lingered in memory in any way - it was just average. I also asked to try their Chillicious paste - luckily i did before purchasing as it would've been a waste - it tasted of nothing.Their coffee was great and apparently the cakes and sweet goodies are too.As for the staff - very friendly - our waitress however,OVERLY and annoyingly so. She was just too text book "Yes absolutely, with utmost pleasure and delight, you are absolutely most very welcome to have this or that, and you most certainly may this and most certainly may that" for EVERY little thing was just too much and unfortunately it felt unauthentic. We actually weren't sure if this was her natural demeanour or if she was acting. Four & Twenty, this is sincere feedback and I hope it helps you understand and improve where you feel you need to.
