My friend and I had breakfast last weekend sat in the garden at the back of the café. What a lovely spot. The service was excellent. The menu gave enough options for us both, it came presented very well and tasted delicious. We will both be back and we would both thoroughly recommend.
Family run cafe and bakery serving breakfast from 7:30am through to lunch and brunch until 4:30pm Monday to Friday then weekends 9am to 1pm serving coffees, homemade food with daily specials. We specialise in outside catering starting from £3.50 per head.
After walking past this many times, we decided to stop when out on a Sunday.Very friendly service, excellent wide choice of options. Food freshly cooked, very tasty and filling. Had a bacon and sausage sarnie, not skimpy on portions. Coffee was excellent

My wife and I have used this place on a weekly basis since each of our three grandsons were small. There's extensive, comfortable seating including a large upstairs area and they open on Sundays. All the staff are lovely, really pleasant and their food is highly satisfactory. Should you want to eat something slightly 'off menu' they'll do their best to accomdate your tastes. Cleckheaton is a lovely Victorian town and this establishment compliments it tremendously.

We are a delicatessen serving sandwiches, light meals and drinks. We also sells beers, wines, spirits (gin specialists), cheese and other deli products.
...at just how much is packed into this beautiful little deli. First of all, I have been many times for the hot and cold food, which is always top notch, as is the coffee. Everything is freshly prepared and lovely quality. Last week I pre-ordered a buddha bowl, which was very substantial and wholesome - good value at £6.50.Then there is the deli food selection. I love the range of cheeses, and you will also find cold meats, crackers, chocolate, jams, chutneys etc, tea, coffee...There is an emphasis on Yorkshire produce so it feels good to support local producers but these also make great gifts and I have had several bespoke hampers made up to give as presents. Michelle and Peter and the team put a lot of effort into making the packaging look fantastic and it always looks like it has cost much more than it actually has.Next, the back of the shop is full of the most eye-popping selection of drinks, notably gins of all descriptions with more types of tonic than you ever knew existed, but I have also bought soft drinks, beer, wine and prosecco - always great quality. The welcome at Ginger Whale is always friendly and the customer service is first class. The produce is well chosen and classy, but for all that the prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend a visit. Thanks very much for your kind words. It means a lot to us to know that what we do is appreciated. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes but it's very rewarding when customers are pleased with what we do.
Best bacon buttie Iâve had around the area for a long time. The bread roll was stuffed with bacon, which wasnât greasy, lovely. The only thing I would say is theyâd run out of a particular sandwich filling, which was fine as the alternative was lovely. The sandwich was very large and my daughter couldnât finish it! VFM. Decent cup of coffee too.

The food was lovely however I question the hygiene of a particular worker who dipped their hands into the flapjack jar then started eating it behind the counter, then started preparing someone's drinks and not even washing hands: I was looking from my table and felt uneasy. surely basic hygiene you'd use tongs and wash hands.Such a shame as I won't go back there again.

Well we were wondering where to go yesterday (Monday 17/12/2018) afternoon for a coffee and perhaps a snack when we decided this would be a good place to go.Initially we thought oops! as they are serving Christmas dinners with people sitting with their crackers and hats on and we assumed that we were going to be unlucky for that snack. Well we were so wrong as we were welcomed in and given a table by the window. The menu arrived and everything was on as normal. As luck would have it their sausage sandwiches were not sold out (these can be in the afternoon) so we both ordered one. To say the sausages are good here would be an understatement as they are fantastic and if you get the opportunity get in and enjoy (before they are sold out). Alternatively they are also renowned for their bacon or even better why not ask for something with eggs as this is the place to come and buy your fresh eggs rather than the supermarket. Anyway enough of me going on this is a family run business and they give excellent service as we again found out yesterday. We ordered a portion of sticky toffee pudding and custard to share as we thought why not itâs Christmas. Unfortunately when my wife started eating it the pudding was on the hard side and had a lack of sticky toffee. We brought it to the attention of (sorry I donât know your name) one of the guys serving who I believe is one of the family members and without hesitation he took the plate away apologising as he went. He returned with a new portion along with fresh custard and it tasted like a dream come true. On thinking about it, perhaps the first portion might have been the last piece of an earlier pudding and the second potion was perhaps the first segment of a new one. The bit Iâm trying to get at, is that this is not the norm here and was a one off, being resolved to everyoneâs satisfaction without issue and you canât ask for anymore than that.So if you are passing through the Hightown/Liversedge area just off of Halifax Road, be sure to pop in as Iâm positive they will make you welcome (even if they are doing Christmas dinners :) )Well done to the staff and thanks for everything.Merry Christmas The Pattersonâs

Nice attentive staff and competitive pricing, generous portions of a good standard of food explains why the Gallery has the number 1 spot in Heckmondwike. There is a car park round the back and one at the front with free parking for 2 hours.
