Shola Cafe is the only Joint that serves real Homemade Continental, Italian and Indian Cusine in Kodaikanal. Located in Pambarpuram this down to earth Place was opened to fulfil the need of a friendly home like atmosphere where no nonsense good food is se
Let me start with the good things. The lady who welcomed us was very sweet and gave us a warm welcome. The food did not impress highly but I don't have much to complain about either. Yes the pasta was not properly cooked and had very less cream sauce but these things happen. I liked the hot chocolate we ordered but my husband did not. What appalled me was the state this cafe is in right now. Hygeine is a huge concern whether you sit outside in their tiny courtyard or if you go into their living room seating area. I do not want to tarnish the reputation of this place because the family running the place does not seem very well off and probably could use the money from the cafe. This review is just to help visitors from making an informed decision. Do not blindly go by the high ratings. If you are a person for whom hygeine is very important, I would suggest to avoid this place. There is no excuse for keeping the place dirty. One doesn't have to spend a lot of money to make a place look clean. A little bit of effort is all that is needed and this place begs for that attention. Hope the owners will look into this issue soon.thank you for visiting our place. it was a pleasure having you. and thank you for the nice and not so nice words. Things happen, to begin with, ours is a very small place run from home, aimed at a personal attention to the food and our guest. most of our guest end up as friends and we never, do this for money. during demonitization we served food to our guests without taking money, all of them went home and send us the money, sometimes weeks after. this is not to brag, but to let you know about the fact that we do not do it for money. pasta generally is served al dente. which means not 100 percent well done, there has to be a bite to the pasta, atleast that is what i learnt from some of the italian chefs, of coourse it is always the preference of individual, and the thumb rule is that when you finish your pasta, there should not be any sauce left in the plate, this again is a personal choice. if only you had told us about your dissatisfaction, we would have corrected it. regarding hot chocolate, with humility, I had been told by every one of our customers that we make the best hot chocolate, I dont get by what you meant we are not well off, again its a personal opinion of weather someone is well off or not. of course we are not a spik and span all white, 5star decor place. we could very well do it, but this is a home cooked, homemade place served in a home. we have children running around and yes sometimes they mess things up, the day you had visited us was one of the long weekends where everything was jampackecd and we were trying ourr best to serve good food. every other guest who had food that day had gven us good feedbacks. but in this big wide world we cannot satisfy everyone. sorry our standards were not upto your mark. we keep trying to improve our place all the time, and your concrens are taken in good sprits. as a poilcy we never take money from unsatisfied guests. so i kindly request you to send me your Paytm or account no, and would send you 100 percent refund. this, I insist . please message me on 9600921212. thank you once again, and it was a peasure serving you.

Green Kitchen Family Restaurant is a reasonably a big vegetarian hotel in Theni. This hotel gains importance on account of various tourist attractions near Theni. On our way to Munnar we had lunch and while coming back, we had our breakfast. Food was very tasty and the service was also good. Though they have an A/C dining hall it is operational only during lunch and dinner time. For travelerâs sake they have a clean rest room also. The unique feature of this hotel Is that all the walls of the dinning hall are painted with touristâs attractions near Theni giving complete details about them. One need not feel the absence of a guide. It was a visual treat for the eyes and certainly u can call it a tourist friendly hotel.
A small and neat place for a Cofee break and snacks at Nedumkandam town on Munnar to Kumily State Highway SH 19. Vehicles can be parked off the road in front of the Cafe. Barn style, wooden furniture gives a good Barbeque ambience. All sorts of pastries, cakes, bakery dishes, packaged snacks etc are available. Microwave is available for warming up the food. Tea, Cofee and other beverages are available. Mainly a fast food cafe. Food taste is good. Understand this place is a hot spot among the young crowd. Not so good, but an acceptable toilet is available at the site.
Breakfast:Morning breakfast buffet is good, not very elaborate but decent. Quality and taste are good. Dinner:Overall taste and quality are good. Menu is not very elaborate. Prices are economical and quantity is also decent.Starters were really yummy.Biryani was really bad, but later chef apologised and assured us best biryani for next day. Naan was soft and taste.

Taste the brews is a place where the people can taste 20 varieties of local tea in Munnar.
This quaint outlet almost near the Munnar town is best known for the variety of "tea" and home made cakes. They serve coffee too which also is great. I had coffee and a piece of cake and my friend opted for tea and few snacks and we had a nice time here since the place was not very crowded. We had our discussion over some business matters and when guests started coming in we opted to leave. The service was excellent and the coffee was exceptionally good, so was the cake.
