Hidden gem for breakfast. Discovered several years ago when I had to have my car repaired at a nearby garage. Walked to Beer Run and ordered breakfast...it is now my favorite place to go for breakfast. Sadly, the kitchen is small and they only serve breakfast during the week. Wish I could go on weekends. Great home fries!Happy to hear you enjoy our breakfast menu! We do serve breakfast tacos on Saturday morning, and Sunday brunch. You should come out some weekend and see what those menus have to offer! :) We hope to see you soon!

A small gracious establishment with outdoor dining as well. Parking was in a parking garage next door and quite convenient, if you know Charlottesville, that is not always the case. The menu was a nice blend - Asparagus Toast, Heuvos Tostones, Breakfast Sandwich and more. I had the Tostones, with asparagus in a wonderful lemon sauce with fried bananas - exquisite. The coffee cups were a large, large size and grand. The Breakfast Sandwich was fresh and the roll looked delicious. I wish I had the appetite to have some of the pastries, but I was full.

Funky, casual diner serving all-day breakfast & regional American fare, with weeknight live music.
Indeed, Blue Moon was closed for a while but now reopened to same breakfasts of 3 eggs classic with cheese and country fried potatoes. Serve is also classic Charlottesville- at their own pace. Don't expect the fluffy eggs, or the lightly browned potatoes. That's not why you came. The old style diner atmosphere indeed Egg burito for partner and coffee and we escaped for $30.

While visiting Monticello, I stopped in here before leaving to grab some lunch to take with me. I selected a pre-made veggie spinach wrap, container of some potato salad and a fresh limeade. The cashier was friendly and helpful. The food was pretty good, but was quite pricey for what you get. The wrap was $7 and quite small. The container of potato salad was also very small and cost $4. The cup of limeade was also small (4 oz?) and was $2. With tax, my total was almost $15 For that price, I could have had a much nicer meal with larger portions at a medium-fair restaurant. So, if you have lots of $ and don't mind paying quite a bit for some decent, but small portions of food and drink, then the Cafe' at Monticello is for you. Otherwise, I would recommend you go elsewhere.
