Stopped here on my own for breakfast before a meeting, it was early (9am) I was the only person there!I ordered the full breakfast with tea.The tea is brought down first, small teapot (that leaked everywhere) and a mug that had definitely seen better days, it was so discoloured. Then onto the breakfast, there were all the usuals and a basket with toast and brown breadThe breakfast was such a disappointment, the bacon was hard and looked like it had been kept in a bainmarie for a while, both the beans and the sausages were really poor quality, they tasted cheap and not very nice. The sautéed potatoes were ok but could have done with a bit of seasoning In all honesty I would not return nor would I recommend this place
Just dropped in for tea and coffee after a gander around the museum. Nice quiet place for undisturbed and uninterrupted chats after visiting the museum.
When in Castlebar you can enjoy a nice meal and treat your wallet well by eating at McHughs. We had loaded baked potatoes that were cooked to perfection and served quickly. Just get there before 1645 as they shut the doors to finish serving customers. Official closing is 1700.

On a road trip to Connemara and parched for a cuppa we diverted into town to find a bite to eat. It was mid morning on a Sunday and the town was pretty much deserted. Obviously everyone was in Cuppa Joeâs as the place was hopping!Brilliant service and we couldnât believe the menu prices! So reasonable. We had a breakfast toastie and a cream cheese bagel with tea and latte. Our wait was short but the food was really good and both came with a little salad with a gorgeous dressing and coleslaw.Fantastic service, tasty food and brilliant value for money. No wonder it was packed! Thank you for your kind words , its commons like that keeps us in the service industry thans again

Rua is a good place for lunch or a quick snack. Located near the Mall in the town, this is always a busy spot. The daily specials are always interesting but you may have to get there ahead of the crowd to ensure your selection is available!Pleasant and efficient staff. Always a good experience.

Had breakfast here last week. Beans on toasted sourdough bread (2 slices) with melted cheese and coffee. The flavours were amazing. Proper home made beans too!! Our day was set up! HIGHLY RECOMMEND if in Castlebar.

Been before and gets better and better. Nice family atmosphere once you walk in - greeted by the staff. 3 full breakfasts ordered along with tea, toast and enough soda bread to feed an army. If you want a delicious Irish breakfast then look no further. 10/10

This cafe is frequently busy. Personally I think the price charged out weighs the quality and size of portions served. Compared to many other establishments both locally and though out Ireland. CAFE NOVA does stand out. In short average food which is over priced. The picture is the lasagne and chips. It cost almost â¬13. My establishments would it should about â¬8 or â¬9

This cafe has two locations in Castlebar. The dining rooms are small but have a very friendly and open atmosphere where diners often share tables. There is table service as well as take out. Prices are on the high side but the quality and portion size go far in justifying the cost. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Menu is extensive for such a small cafe. All food is freshly prepared. Large selection of fresh deserts. Most food seems to be locally sourced with the menu continually changing. Great place for a quick meal and to meet up with friends.
