Things to do in Caerphilly
After picking my friend up from Slim World Gym, where she had worked up a nice appetite for a well deserved snack. We noticed the " Western Cafe & Snack Bar, so we both said lets try it for perhaps a piece of toast and coffee. Well after viewing the well presented Menu Board, we decided to have a breakfast. We discovered there are three option sizes for their breakfast - we opted for choice one consisting of 1 egg, bacon, sausage, Brown hash, toast, beans or tomatoes (the other choices are larger Breakfasts). There are also the option to add Mushrooms, Black Pudding etc. Included in the £3.20 for our option 1 Breakfast, was coffee or tea.The food was well presented, beautifully cooked, hot and served with a smile from the very courtesy servers. In fact "good old fashion service". The young waitress was saying they can cater for all tastes, diets, low fat also for customers following a diet. The premises are spotless clean, bright with a view of the Kitchen, a pleasant atmosphere. Reminds me of the excellent value Roadside Transport Cafe. Where travellers found good friendly service at reasonable prices.Don't be put off because it's on the Western Industrial Estate, if you're looking for friendly, home cooked food, it's not just breakfast food they do have other meals listed and snacks on offer. They deserve to do well, I suspect the workers from the Estate are glad this little "GEM" of a cafe is close at hand to their work place.
Try the Honey Toast its superb. The Apple and lemon cake was superb. Savouries and a good selection of cakes.Top quality at good prices with a lovely welcome. Very clean. Plenty of room for prams. On the very frequent A bus route from Caerphilly Station.
If you want a great breakfast without the usual floating greasy plate, this is definitely the place to go. Best breakfast in town without a doubt!

Girl friend persuaded me to go due to reviews. Quite cafe with which seemed ok. Nice interesting quotes on the wall but let down by the lack of personality of staff. Depressing enviroment unfortunately. Coffee was good but messed up order on 2 items which didnt start well considering we were the only ones there and them confirming and writing down order. Food was quick but so were we in eating and leaving. Not the best start to our day
Went here this morning myself and my wife both had fried egg with beans and toast . The toast and eggs were nice but the beans were like missiles . They belong in a loaded gun they were so hard . Sorry but it was true .

Serving freshly cooked Burgers, breakfast rolls ,Mixed grill, steak, chicken ,Cappuccino, Latte,Tea, Coffee. Served from a snack bar on top of Caerphilly Mountain. Located on its own private car park with free parking and outside seating.
Ideal place for a meal after cycling up up the mountain, walking the dog, etc. Spacious car park and also free toilets. The cafe is very well organised with a queue leading to the cash till and combined ordering point. You take the order to a chef position and here your food is prepared by your personal chef to your requirements. The price is fine and the quality of the food is high. No eating utensils as far as we could see.

I have been meaning to try out this cafe for a while and finally made it - I wasn't disappointed. Lovely atmosphere with friendly staff. Did indeed get a fantastic coffee and a huge slice of delicious red velvet cake - stunning. I would strongly recommend a visit and I plan on bringing my husband and child for breakfast which also looks amazing with some excellent alternatives too.
