Find out what Cafe restaurants to try in Brooklyn. It seems like most folks have a grandmother, great-uncle or some other distant relative that used to live in Brooklyn, or perhaps a friend that lives there now. In the early 1900s, it was a mecca for immigrants arriving via Ellis Island. A hundred years later, young professionals and artists left pricey Manhattan digs for Brooklyn's cheaper and more expansive space. Neighborhoods like Brooklyn Heights and Park Slope, which had fallen into disrepair over the years, were restored and reborn as funky enclaves. Walk or bike over the historic Brooklyn Bridge (or ride the subway) to Brooklyn Heights for a stroll along the Promenade and breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline. Meander through Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens for a taste of nature in the urban wilds. Catch a performance at the world-famous Brooklyn Academy of Music. From the delicious Italian restaurants of Bensonhurst to the Irish bars that line the avenues of Bay Ridge, from the hotdogs and rollercoasters of Coney Island to the bagels and handball courts of Greenpoint, Brooklyn is a state of mind as well as a dynamic community. Discover why, no matter where people move on to, they remain Brooklynites at heart.

On a friends recommendation, we caught the subway here from our hotel and were not disappointed. Friendly server and really tasty food and great coffee. Try the overnight oats or the full breakkie or the ricotta pancakes, all were delicious and set us up for a day of sightseeing. There is seating inside or outside so do treat yourself.

Traveling with friends from Ga. and Fla. We all love home made food. Headed for Lombardis Pizza, but when we got there they had a 30 min wait (small place), and we had afternoon reservations for Museum tours. So we exited and walked next door to the Fiat Cafe. Our âLucky Dayâ!!! Also tiny space, but the aroma filling the room was an indication of what was to come. Quick and friendly service, very reasonable prices , and and yummy delicious food!! I ordered Spaghetti Puttanesca, ( ate every savory bite!) and had 2 glasses of red wine. Others had Bruschetta , Eggplant Parm, salads and wine. Everybody raved about how great their food was. ****** âNote to dinersâ- many restaurants in the NoLita /Little Italy area only take cash . One of the best meals we had during our 10 day journey around NYC and Long Island!

Neighborhood coffeehouse serving eggs, granola, sandwiches & salads in a homey, laid-back setting
Cool looking interior with a decent menu. We had one plate of the fluffy pancakes with syrup and berry butter and the grey dog breakfast special, which had 2 of the fluffy pancakes, bacon, fried eggs and syrup. Both were delicious and the coffee had free refills. It was perfect for a breakfast stop.

I was hoping that the bagels at this diner would be the best in town, but they weren't. I thought the bagels at George's Diner were better. The tables are REALLY cramped. Props for the portions and music selection, but the food taste was average.

We arrived before they opened and there was a line. We ordered a smoked salmon platter and and some latkes. The latkes were thick and delicious. I make latkes but theyâre never that thick! The smoked salmon platter...heaven. We ordered the Ida. Yes itâs $85 but split amongst 4 people with unlimited bagels, it was a mighty good meal for the price. The Scottish salmon and the Pastrami cured salmon were my favorite but all 4 salmons were delicious. The pickled tomatoes and carrots were really tasty as well. Yes, get here early or expect to wait because the food is just that good.
