A small tea room in a lovely village. A very relaxed atmosphere we also have an outside seating area.
Found this little gem by chance and will definitely go back. Friendly, welcoming staff and delicious home cooked food - soups, sandwiches, baking etc etc. Nothing too much trouble for the staff.

Traditional fish and chip shop restaurant with in house seating and table service. Take away is also available.
Visited in January of this year and found the restaurant to be comfortable and clean. The service was very friendly and welcoming from a young Stirling university student who I would commend to everyone with whom she comes in contact. The food was very good and the atmosphere tranquil.

Stopped here for some lunch on a Friday with our two children. The place is located in a country setting and nicely decorated. We managed to get a table and soon got tucked into good soup and sandwiches followed by cakes with tea / cappucino. Great staff. Took my son around the side to see the hens and animals in the field next door. Great fun. Will be back again to try walk up the Tinto Hill.

The Courtyard Café is a relaxing coffee shop set within The Kirkstyle Hotel. Serving great food, fantastic coffee and Biggar's finest Freakshakes.
Stopped in for a breakfast and we ordered 1 Full Scottish Breakfast and 1 Vegetarian Breakfast and 2 coffees. The waitress returned to say there was no veggie haggis for the Vegetarian Breakfast that morning but they would swap in a veggie sausage instead which seemed fair enough. She then returned to say they had no veggie sausage and apologised. We ended up with a Full Scottish Breakfast and a Full Scottish Breakfast without the haggis, Black pudding, sausage and bacon.Service was slow enough to allow us to finish our coffee and order another when our food arrived. The food was good; haggis a wee bit moist, Black pudding excellent, tatie scone very nice, but the lack of items on the veggie breakfast was very disappointing - you canât remove meat items from a dish and claim it to be a vegetarian dish. The tomato was barely cooked and quite awful. The courtyard was very nice and caught the morning sun very well giving us a lovely al-fresco breakfast. Service was very good, staff were very pleasant and if it had been later and weâd popped in for coffee and cake this probably would have been a better review.

Make several visits to this little deli throughout the year. Aside from the army of cheeses, oatcakes, olives, chutneys, spirits, chocolates and all other kind of treats for sale - if youâre simply looking for good coffee, tasty cakes or a light lunch; the Olive Tree Deli is the place to go! Lunch options include wraps, baguettes, soups, salads, pastries, quiche and scones - all at very reasonable prices. Traybake cabinet is usually filled with wonders such as lemon drizzle cake, coffee & walnut cake, millionaire shortbread, rocky road, brownies, flapjacks, German biscuits etc etc... There is also a wide variety of drinks on offer such as smoothies, coffees, hot chocolates, teas & juices.Take away is also available!

Very friendly Bistro owner, super breakfast and a very pleasant location. Met the son of the Laird who was most welcoming and shared with us the Carmichael clanâs âfamily historyâ. Stopped for a quick lunch en route to Edinburgh - A702 is a very slow road, be warned. No sandwiches suitable for children. A little fairy cake for £3.30!!! Questioned this with the young girl serving - told it was gluten free so more expensive?!?! No customer service skills whatsoever. Very limited choice otherwise. Wonât be back.

Not been here for ages but called on Sunday late morning when they were VERY busy (that tells you people like it!). Had two delicious bacon and egg rolls, £5, cooked fresh for us, excellent quality and polite, friendly staff. We will be back...love the 'chit chat' by the way.
