Find out what Cafe restaurants to try in Bhutan. Remote Bhutan first allowed the world a peek inside in 1974. With four millennia of habitation, the Himalayan kingdom offers a trove of archaeological treasures, including many ornate temples and dzong fortresses. Isolation has preserved the heavily Buddhist-influenced culture of the last Shangri-La.
Things to do in Bhutan
A warm cafe with a cosy bar located in Bhutan Suites, we make clean vegetarian meals and bake a variety of delightful sweet treats.
This lovely cafe within the Bhutan Suites Hotel prepares some seriously good Bhutanese cuisine. The staff is friendly and courteous, the surroundings pleasant, but the star here is definitely the food. Delicious.KuzuzangpolaThank you so much for your kind words! We do hope that you will come back and try our baked goods (we recommend our chocolate fudge brownies) and also indulge in our non-Bhutanese savory snacks. Sincerely,The Cafe Bhutan Team

We came here for lunch after nearly two weeks of rice, potatoes and cauliflower. I guess we didn't have high expectations but it was surprisingly delicious. The base was particularly good.We ordered chicken, tuna and chilli chicken. All were really nice. The coffees (lattes) were reasonable. Fresh beans, just a bit burnt. The service was great considering we thought there was just one guy busily making the pizzas for our small group plus another huge table of about 15.
After eating wonderful traditional Bhutanese lunches and dinners for 2 weeks, we discovered the Cafe Bistro and its excellent assortment of cakes, tarts, and pies. Lots of chocolate treats to go along with expresso coffee drinks and teas. I've rarely seen a group of people so excited about pastries. But the excitement is well deserved. The proprietor, Rupa, is pastry chef at one of the fanciest hotels in Paro. She and her sister makes wonderful desserts that appeal to US and European tastes. Once we found it, our group insisted on return for our second and third treats in 48 hours in Paro.
The Cafe is situated right in the city center, around the clock tower plazza. Big Menu, good portions, good for evening tea/ coffee and dinner as well. Has a well stocked bar as well. Food is Bhutanese as well as Pizzas and Burgers and bakery products like muffins and donuts.
Coffee for friends. Herbal tea for health. Food for hunger. To add and maintain your vigor is the Tower Cafe
Iâve visited tower cafe more than a good number of times with my fiancé over the years. We simply love the food there, the service and the hospitality. Burgers, fries, toasts, salad, rice items, drinks etc. added unique recipes that other joints donât really have in Thimphu. Itâs a must to visit tower cafe if you ever come to the capital plus itâs right in the dead center of town. Satisfaction guaranteed, an experience worth the shot. Welcome to tower cafe

O Cafe were brunch is served all day everyday! We are open from 10 AM till 7 PM every day! Come try our pastries and stay for our brunch fare
There were varieties of food choices for this cafe. Good vibe and great staff and service. I and my mother ordered Chicken fingers with potato chips, Pita bread with Hummus, and Lemon tart. The lemon tart was very nice. However, Chicken finger was quite dry and Hummus was quite tasteless. However, I liked it a lot. The price was quite costly but worth the cost though.Dear Panini_poonie,Thank you for your review of O Cafe, we are sorry the food fell short of your expectation we appreciate you letting us know as it is the only way we can improve. We were very happy to note that you enjoyed our lemon tart. Please do come again.Regards

I've eaten here twice. A bit hard to find (go up two flights of stairs) but nice, tranquil location from which to watch Thimphu. Very hygienic and food consistently excellent. Not too many tourists either.

A pit stop while you are travelling out of Thimpu or entering Thimpu. The restaurant serves good food and also provides stunning view of snow peaks.

My guide recommended I eat here and order the yak ribs and I am so glad I did, it was the best meal of my trip by far. The restaurant is a casual pub which I enjoyed. I would definitely eat here again and I would order the yak ribs.
