Old West Cafe is a great breakfast restaurant. Their menu is very extensive with a large offering. A good place for breakfast.

Our new location features a more comfortable dining room, a private dining area for large groups and a much better parking lot with easy access from Hurstview, Mid-Cities Blvd. And Grapevine Highway.
Always enjoy this cafe/bistro. This trip wife had quische of the day which was ham and cheese with fruit cup and biscuits. I had the three egg omlet with 4 ingredients. Plus hash browns and English muffins. All very hot and tasty. Friendly staff. Quick service and great value. Will be back!

Needed to find a place to have dinner near a school where a grandson was participating in an event. Found Buttermilk online, and it looked interesting. Turns out it is more than interesting. This is homestyle cooking in the middle of metroplex sprawl. In fact, once you are inside the place you can imagine it being in almost any small town you've ever visited. The staff is friendly, the other diners greet you as if you were neighbors, at least they did on this visit, and decor is traditional small-town diner. We kept it simple, sampling two variations of hamburgers, cheeseburger and mushroom swiss. The only mistake may have been not ordering the onion rings with one of them instead of fries. I sampled the complimentary cup of soup available upon request. It was vegetable beef. It was full of veggies and chunks of ground beef. The only complaint, if you want to call it that was the lack of seasoning, but I think that was by design. A little salt and pepper made it taste homemade, which it likely was. The only complaint is we chose to eat as much of our meal as possible, which meant we couldn't sample any of the bakery items. Next time we'll split the entree or sandwich to make certain we can sample dessert. One other bit of praise before closing. They had two busloads of folks dining there that evening, and the only glitch was the necessity to share a menu when we first arrived. All the others were in use by the two groups.
