Went here for Saturday brunch. It was not the easiest place to find and the service was a not the best (ie staff werenât attentive). That being said all of this was well and truly overset by the food - simply amazing!

I ordered 5 Oysters + potato fire bread. The wait staff whk took our food order is: skinny, short hair 140-150cm height, indian male, aged early - mid 20s.I asked him, if they do fried Oysters and he said "Yes, they can do battered as well as fresh".So I ordered 5 Oysters, along with the bread.12-15min later, bread came, along with Fresh oysters. They expect me to eat fresh oysters with the bread, not only that, they were expecting me to eat the bread on its own. After refusing the order, they still expected me to pay for the coffee! This is a bad cafe in my life! No wonder why your fish n chip + liquor store is doing well, because you guys keep stuffing up all the time.

I've had coffee at Rad every time I visit friends in Mt Eden and have never been disappointed. This time wanted somewhere to lunch and virtually everything on the strip was closed for Christmas/New Year holidays so it was back to Rad. Interesting menu covering salad and breakfast bowls and the usual cafe suspects. Nursing a hangover I opted for the fish and chips which was a bit of a surprise - the batter was black thanks to squid ink. Not what I expected but delicious nonetheless.

4 for breakfast, service was great, the cafe was nice and everything was good. The French Toast was excellent, but everything else was just good. We all left happy and would probably want to go back again, but I kind of expected more.... maybe if the counter was full there may have been that magic item that pushed the experience over into 5 stars.

Fantastic breakfast. Great coffee. Loved the Federal Benedict with Pork hock, Chipotle and bbq sauce. Poached eggs perfectly done. The Dukkah eggs with whipped Citrus feta also good, but not as good as the Benedict. We will be back. Yum Yum Yummy

'The Fed' is all about informality, fun and generosity. Think hand-cut speciality meats, cured lox, gourmet sandwiches deluxe salads & dessert pie by the slice.
Great place. Packed out at 11an Sunday with people waiting. You could be in Manhattan. Signs saying things like they are "Gluten Tolerant' and how vegans come back to being carnivores thru the magic of the pastrami sandwich, which this place specialises in. The most authentic NY style diner I have ever been in outside of NYC - without the fake signage and number plates and crap to make it 'feel' American. Strongly recommended if you have a hangover. Right across the road from the Sky City tower.

Le Chef, a fresh seasonal European & French cuisine with a menu renewed every month. Let yourself be surprised !
We stopped by for an apertivo and snack, planning for a later dinner but ended up staying and ordering a main.It was cold and rainy, two guys were playing just outside the door. We had wine, duck and jazz...what more could one want? The flavours of the duck terrine were wonderful and we had the veal ragout with tagliatelle for the main. Pasta was cooked perfectly and the lamb ragout, cooked well but could have had a bit more seasoning / salt.

This eatery has a nice ambience and pleasant staff. I ordered the Big Glory Bay Salmon $26. The waitress advised our group of three to order sides as no vegetables come with the dishes. The salmon 'small plate' arrived and it sure needed sides. The salmon portion was very small & a friend and I joked that we would need to go elsewhere to fill up, even with the two sides ordered. For price vs quantity this is not going to be a place I return to.
