We are a locally owned family cafe opening 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch. We open for Dinner only during the Daylight Saving time period. The cafe is located in the Surf Club building on Lighthouse Beach. Enjoy a meal, a coffee, a drink as you wat
On arrival we were warmly greeted by the staff and shown to a table by the window so we could enjoy the beach view. Our coffee orders were taken immediately while we perused the menu. This was greatly appreciated and shows the staff have been well trained. Coffee came quickly and our orders were taken. My husband had the Eggs Benedict and he was impressed with sourdough and the amount of salmon which came with the dish. I had the Breakfast Stack which included a tasty pumpkin and corn fritter, salmon, rocket and a poached egg. It also had hollandaise sauce which I asked to have on the side and it was no problem. All the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. We were so pleased we made the decision to have breakfast here and definitely will return when next in the area.

This used to be Che Bon Restaurant which we have passed every other day for the last 11 years and is 5mins from home. Saw the new sign for the tearooms and just popped in out of curiosity on the way home from lunch. Owners were more than welcoming and showed us around even to the extent of showing us their home which is now in the converted chapel which used to be Che Bon. The cafe/restauraunt area, while not huge, is very charming and looks out on to green fields at the back with blinds that can be opened up to bring the view into the room. We went back for coffee a couple of weeks later one Sunday morning. There was a table having breakfast which looked very hearty and nicely presented. The menu was not large but uses fresh local produce. As they had just opened they were keeping things simple. We will be going back to sample the food once they are well established and will review again then.

Situated on the working pecan farm this cafe has such a great vibe! I love coming here with my laptop on sunny day to get some work done. Fantastic coffee, very generous servings of food. Hidden gem not to be missed!

Had lunch with a friend with a friend under the trees at the Gallery. I had the garlic prawns (forgot to take pic) which tasted very nice and presented beautifully and my friend had the gnocchi which again presented well but she said was disappointing taste wise. Overall itâs a nice place but I wouldnât rave about it. Left feeling a bit underwhelmed.

Middle eastern inspired restaurant with authentic and freshly made food with Sydney chic. Open 7 days a week from 7:00-15:00 kitchen closes at 14:30
Open early (7:00am) and on the Main Street with plenty of parking outside. The menu was inspired, and infused with Middle Eastern flavours. Great, friendly service and quick, too.

After a week of eating out on a short break in the Northern Rivers, I was ready for some simpler food. Spying a sign to The Edible Garden Café Restaurant on the road to Lismore, I was instantly intrigued. Thereâs nothing I like better than a short distance between garden and plate. Barrels of bright blooms herald the entranceway to a small courtyard of al fresco tables. The restaurant itself is a large corrugated iron shed with exposed wooden beams and long farmhouse tables. On the counter, a gorgeous old cash register immediately catches my eye.Itâs a surprisingly large interior â more designed around functions than café guests. A group of golfing seniors illustrate this point, with long tables of cackling women getting raucous on bottles of BYO wine. We take a window seat as far away from them as possible, achieving both a slight breeze and views into the leafy green garden. From the short, six-item luncheon menu we decide to share Hearty Gourmet Sausages ($17.50) and the Signature Pumpkin Salad ($17.50) to get the most out of the garden-fresh produce. My always hungry dining companion asked to add on a side of Bread ($7) without realising that an avalanche of food was about to descend. It arrives on a monstrous square slate with green olives, olive tapenade, olive oil, dukkah and fresh tomatoes.Presented on a long, platter-sized bit of slate, the signature salad features cumin and maple syrup roasted butternut pumpkin with baby spinach and other leaves, spiced nuts, crumbled goatsâ cheese and lashings of fig balsamic dressing under scattered edible blooms. Itâs generosity overload, with way more salad than one person could handle.Weâre almost thankful the country-style pork, apple and sultana sausages come on a plate, albeit one full to the brim with seasonal roasted vegetables. There are green beans, pumpkin, onions, zucchini as well as potato mash and a rich red wine jus. Nothing is too cheffy - it's all cooked the way your grandparents would relate to.We take a walk around the property to work off this feast, which came to the princely sum of $42. With artfully placed saddles and carriages, itâs more wedding function centre than it is working garden â we struggle to find any vegetable beds at all. However itâs hard to complain after eating such a generous lunch of simple, honest food, served up at a reasonable price.
Stopped here for lunch. We both had soup of day with crusty bread....homemade, delicious and very generous serves. We also enjoyed sides of sweet potatoes fries, creamy garlic aoli, and spring rolls. Prices were great. We should have ordered the special, we realized our error when we glanced the delicious serving of lamb pass us by! Best cafe Iâve bern to in ages! Well done! If I lived here I would be a regular!

Although doing a lot of research, it seems that many of the websites are not up to date as several of the Alstonville attractions, are closed, or have limited opening hours which makes it difficult for many tourists visiting this lovely area.Fortunately, this was NOT one of them.I was lucky enough to visit the Alstonville Garden House on the right day, since they are now open from, Wednesday to Saturday. The Café itself is surrounded by some lovely gardens and is also a local nursery. The service here is also exceptional and worthy to note - as I have continually seen less and less customer service, over the years throughout my travels, but not here.I had a very silky latte and a warm, very moist, raspberry muffin for morning tea.The politeness of the staff is rewarding to see.Making this my first stop before proceeding onto the Victoria Park Nature Reserve. I also had the chance to speak to the owner, Andrew, who assisted me with some great local knowledge and directions, to some of the âhiddenâ areas of this park. I would highly recommend you stop here for some local, true caring service, great coffee, fresh cakes and all surrounded by a beautiful, serene garden setting.

Have visited this cafe before and served by a welcoming waitress and food quite acceptable so gave it a second go....weâre actually planning to live at Ballina so would treat ourselves here regularly...not now...the young brunette waitress who served us this time was rude, off hand, didnât listen couldnât care too hoots....more interested in the younger patrons...the male owner (assume heâs the owner) was abrupt and lacked any hospitable manner....we did nothing to cause this....seemed as if timing wasnât good...but thatâs their problem...a classic couldnât care less attitude...so guess thatâs ok as long as youâre busy....two other good places to go which we did....small town ...wonât be back there ...very pleasant competition over the road and at two other places for dinner too....best not to ride on pseudo popularity 86 on Main....never know who your patrons are
