What a great experience. Was able to cater to my tricky gluten-free, vegetarian request with ease. The food was divine and great value for money. Awesome setting looking out on the bay. With bone china cups, home-made lemon curd and jam topped off the wonderful high tea we had.
When you visit the incredible 'Giant House', you'll see an incredible mosaic exhibit all about the property and if you want to enhance the experience then go to place your coffee or tea and snack order at The Artist's Palate (on site cafe) and enjoy these in the garden patio that has an incredible view of the artwork and local landscape. Don't skip this or the decorative washrooms while you're here. Enjoy!

Electric Kitchen is a newly opened Café, serving great coffee and a selection of Hot & Cold dine in or takeaway foods. We have a selection of cold drinks, ices creams and sweet treats.
I thought the croissants were either originally overbaked or were stale. My americano coffee was nice but my daughters flat white was weak and prob could have benefited from a 2nd shot. Prices were fair.

Loved this little cinema. The seating was very comfy, sound quality excellent and how nice to be able to have a great quality beer while watching a movie. Snacks and food can be bought there too, and that all looked nice and reasonably priced. Movie ticket was only $15 which I thought was great, when compared to the price of Gold Class tickets back home in Australia.

"The Brasserie is one of Akaroa's best restaurants. Your hosts, Carlos and Saowani invite you to step into their beautiful garden and escape the hustle and bustle outside. We have all day menu with electic and French European influence as well as Asian in
Initially went indoors to order. The cafe is petite, so we went outside into the lovely garden where there are many tables. There was a little chicken scratching around, so very quaint. And an old dog in the distance following perhaps his master. The wine was good . The lunch menu included seafood chowder, written on the fence but not on the menu inside. Do try it - its fabulous! My partner had the salmon - superb. Definitely go for a lovely relaxing lunch, filled with calming ambience and excellent food.
