Reviews on British food in Twickenham, England, United Kingdom. Twickenham is a suburban area and town in Greater London, lying on the River Thames 10.2 miles west-southwest of the centre of London. It has an extensive town centre and is famous as being the home of rugby union, with hundreds of thousands of spectators visiting Twickenham Stadium, the world's largest rugby stadium, each year. The historic riverside area is famous for its network of 18th-century buildings and pleasure grounds, many of which survive intact. This area has three grand period mansions with public access: York House, Marble Hill and Strawberry Hill House. Another has been lost, that belonging to 18th-century aphoristic poet Alexander Pope. Among these is the Neo-Gothic prototype home of Horace Walpole which has given its name to a whole district, Strawberry Hill, and is linked with the oldest Roman Catholic university in the country, St Mary's University, Twickenham.

I thoroughly enjoyed my lazy Sunday walking along the river, throwing sticks for the dog, and then catching the little ferry over the river to go to the White Swan.It was a first time visit, and we sat on the patio watching the world go by on the water. The menu is definitely not haut cuisine, but fairly honest British pub food. It does offer vegan options which my friend had...with bacon!A very pleasant relaxing lunchtime.N.B. It would be wise to book a table, as we managed to get the last one, otherwise you are either standing or sitting on the curb. Walking shoes, flat shoes or trainers definitely needed ladies!

Didn't have food on our visit but certainly looked good. Just had a few pints before a match at the Stoop and while busy with good atmosphere it wasn't as rammed as other pubs in Twickenham, as its off the main streets but still one of the closest to Twickenham station - will be my default pre-match venue from now on.

The Beer Cellar & Restaurant is located in a fantastic basement sitting underneath two Georgian buildings in the town centre of Richmond Upon Thames. It is a labyrinth of cosy areas in the bar and a great restaurant on the lower levels. It has natural sun

The service was excellent, the food was awesome, atmosphere was perfect and there was a great craft beer selection to choose from as well as some lovely wines. If you arenât into rugby do not go there on a match day as hugely popular. We went on a regular night and it had a good atmosphere. We were lucky to get a table. Itâs quite noisy but the bar staff were attentive and good.Thank you so much for your review. Glad you enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was to your liking. You are right about Rugby days they certainly are busy but its all good fun. Many thanks Jon

I have eaten in this restaurant three times in recent months. The fish dishes I have tried were all outstandingly good. I especially recommend the grilled plaice. Comfortable, spacious dining area. The staff are very friendly and courteous. The prices are fair and good value.

Perched on the Thames riverside, this beautiful bar has it all; fantastic food, delicious cocktails, and brilliant location. Open from 12 noon for lunch, we are open until 11:30pm, and families with kids are welcome to join us up until 7pm (we also have a
Revolution is quite a large pub chain selling comfort food such as burgers, fish and chips, sandwiches, pizzas and the like. The advantage of the Richmond branch is its superb riverside terrace. With a view of Richmond bridge on a hot summerâs day the slightly prosaic nature of the food perhaps matters less. But today was a colder winterâs afternoon so lunch was in the indoor bar, which apart from some banquettes around the edge, felt a rather large empty space. That said ribs chips and nachos were a filling repast. The meat slipped easily off the bone so no need for messy hands. A pint of Camden Helles was refreshing.MHi Futtock21, Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we did! We are looking forward to seeing you again soon. Enjoy your day! Thanks,Devonte

We frequent this establishment and their sister establishment (three horse shoes) on a regular basis. We have eaten in these pubs, too many times to remember. The reason we always frequent these pubs, is the ambience, the alcohol, but most of all the food.So... when we attended tonight, we both chose from the specials menus, as we quite often do.I had the sword fish and my partner had the grilled mackerel. The food was...as good as you could ever wish to taste in any restaurant...anywhere.Just when you thought it couldnât get any better! Large freshly cooked Sunday lunch £13.95 (smaller available at £11.99) - choice of lamb, chicken (came bacon wrapped) and beef with super fresh wide range of vegetables and yorkshire. Surprisingly quiet as quality better than at the Crown for example which is always super busy. Had extra cauliflower cheese which is nice. Small garden at back or terrace at front - large projection TV for sports events. Good range of wines by glass or bottle. One small complaint- they donât sell sparkling water! Friendly service.
