We recently visited this pub that claims to provide âfine diningâ it is anything but fine dining with terrible service. Worst service I have received in a long time. The French onion soup was awful and tasteless. The salmon was smothered in butter but most importantly the service was the worst. We were not made welcome when we arrived, we were not asked if we would like more drinks (we had to go to the bar) and then as we waited ages for the dessert menu we didnât want desserts. We were told that as it is a two course menu they might be able to do something for us! Just awful. We're sorry you didn't enjoy your recent visit to our lovely unpretentious country pub. We are not, and never have claimed to be fine dining, Again, I can only apologise that you did not like to wait the few minutes whilst we tried to get you a table as we were fully booked and you hadn't. How inconsiderate we are to check on those who had booked and then given their table to you to as they had moved outside.I must further apologise as you appear not to have enjoyed the soup that many others did, all according to taste I suppose! Oh, and the Baked Salmon Supreme with crayfish and lemon butter, who knew it came with butter! As a village pub we offer table service when we can, we are not fine dining, we are not pretentious, we don't advertise that we do it any other way. Again, I apologise that you had to get up and walk 5 paces to the bar, this must have been exhausting, good job we took the drinks to the table for you to save any extra effort on your behalf. And genuinely, I apologise that you had to wait a few minutes for a dessert menu that you didn't want anyway and although ,yes, Sunday is a 2/3 course set menu, we did only charge you for the one course for the person that had had only the one.

Sunday lunchWe stayed in the indigo for the weekend but each night this restaurant was fully booked. However we managed a Sunday lunch....The beef was lovely and the Yorkshire puds were huge, the pork belly had too much fat and not enough meat, but tasty.Service was good apart from being the only ones in the restaurant not to be offered a drink from the drinks trolley, rather disappointing. Expensive for what you get but very tasty and included is service with the bill without getting a choice.Dear JohnmF5711TT, The Woodsman books up very far in advance at the weekends but we are glad that we could accommodate you this afternoon. Thank you for passing on your feedback about your Sunday Lunch with us and it has been delivered to the relevant departments. I apologise that you were not offered the drinks trolley. This must have been a genuine oversight on our part, however had you made your server aware we would have sent it over immediately or alternatively offered you a digestif on us. Service is optional and can be instantly removed if a guest so wishes but we are glad that you find your meal tasty. Next time you join us if you contact myself directly on [email protected] we can ensure that you have a drink from the trolley!Best, Rachael

Came to 9 Church Street after reading the reviews on hereLovely little restaurant with friendly staffMonk fish starter, sea bass and pork mains were very tasty but a bit on the small side, potted chicken starter was more like a sandwich filling without mayonnaise, very disappointing Shame about the party at the other end of the restaurant who were rowdy and noisy throughout our meal which spoilt it for the 2 of us

Love this place. I guess being so close to the theatre gives a sense of urgency and they didnât let us down.We stopped in for lunch and had a nice bottle of white wine to jolly up the day.Smoked salmon starter, beef goulash followed by ice cream. They were totally gluten free aware which was perfect. Just to make it tougher Iâm allergic to egg so had to pass on the Eton mess but my wife loved it! Perfect

Came here for breakfast on first morning of my visit to Stratford on the basis on reviews here. I was surprised to find it so quiet, despite being only a minute away from the Birthplace. The coffee was excellent and I had the ciabatta filled with my choice of egg, sausage and bacon. the ingredients were all very tasty and it was all cooked well. Service was friendly and I could see why it is number 1 for breakfast in Stratford.

A rather informal restaurant more like a cafe, but the food was excellent. Well prepared and delicious with friendly service. My only complaint was that it is a small restaurant and the tables occupied had rather noisey diners. I would go back again for the food just wishing the ambience was better.

Loxleyâs Restaurant & Wine Bar is an independently owned, family run business based in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon.
Amidst all the multiples, good, individual restaurants are few and far between. On a busy Saturday night, we still managed a very enjoyable, relaxed meal. We all enjoyed the food and the choice was wide enough to please all our party. Particularly recommended: the cheese souffle, the lamb cutlets and the lemon sole.
