The Mermaid is situated is the first and last public house you will see when leaving st Maryâs or arriving by ferry . It has 2 bars and a 60 seat restaurant on the top floor overlooking the beautiful harbour and the off islands. It can be accessed via the
We love the Mermaid for its history and great pub atmosphere. The lunch menu is excellent and I had sole fillets with veg which were really well prepared and presented. The bar can get very busy at times as this is a âproper pubâ. Food is very good regardless.

Good pub. Food and drinks were good. Friendly staff. Donât approve of dogs in bars/restaurants. Outside eating area is lovely but when we visited people were smoking & I didnât like the language they were using , so we sat inside which was a shame because it was beautiful weather.Thank you for your review. We appreciate any feedback given and do hope you will come and visit us again soon!

Love sitting outside this little cafe in Old Town! Fabulous home made Cornish Pasties (best ever) and fabulous homemade ginger scones with homemade rhubarb and ginger jam with clotted cream. Taste amazing! Lovely, friendly staff too

Our usual visit to St Mary's was complicated this year by my wrist being in plaster. Our self catering property is 15 minutes walk away from Hugh Town and it is not possible to buy food to be delivered from the Co-op on a weekend. The owners of our property recommend Tanglewood, so I ordered 3 x 2 course meals (and side veggies) in advance of our arrival on St Mary's this year. The food was delivered within an hour of our arrival at our property. We were so pleased with the quality of the food, that we ordered more meals for part of our second week.

Venison excellent, but in fact everything we had was amazing. Carrot veloute, John dory, tropical sorbet and even the cheese board. The dining room was set out for fine dining; candlelight and tapestries added to the ambience. Dress code relaxed (shorts not allowed). The service was attentive and the added little touches of the booking staff made the whole evening one out of the ordinary. We had a drink in the dungeon bar before heading up to the restaurant; as a working dungeon previously it has had a few famous prisoners - look out for the little plaque with names and dates, or simply ask Chuckles the host who will gladly regale you with the details, whilst efficiently serving drinks and witty anecdotes. Dear PerScientiaThank you so much for taking your time to leave a review for us.We are so pleased that you had an amazing evening with us, we really hope you will return and dine with us again soon.Kind regardsJames

A well-loved family run restaurant overlooking the beautiful harbour on St Mary's, Isles of Scilly. Open daily from late March through to the end of October. We open at 10am and serve evening meals from 6pm, except on Tuesday nights.
The view from here is amazing! We had some pretty juicy sandwiches looking out at the harbour. Itâs a little expensive but youâre paying for a lovely location.

Longstone Café offers a range of lunch options and homemade cakes. The newly refurbished café is situated almost in the centre of St. Mary's. With views over Porth Hellick, an outdoor children's play area and pretty summerhouse for small wedding ceremonie
We went to the regular Friday Lobster night and we had a great evening. Started off with a complimentary drink followed by a short talk from the owner who is also a lobster fisherman which was both interesting and informative. The meal consted of a half lobster each augmented by an excellent salad buffet. Lots to each and well worth the money.

We found this place on the way to a lovely beach whilst in our buggy and we are really glad we did. They kindly let you park here but donât miss stopping off for a bit. The cafe itself has a beautiful cottage style garden full of agapanthus that leads down to the beach. Inside, the walls are full of local artist paintings and itâs nice and clean with good toilets and shelter if itâs hot. They do a full range of food- I had a pasty which was enormous (and I am a big guy), Troytown ice cream, crab sandwiches. It is a really nice cafe. Some older gent behind me said it was the best meal he had had on Scilly. And I probably wouldnât argue. Friendly and helpful staff means we will do our best to come again for lunch. Best of all, the bus stops outside. Hurrah!! Oh, and by the way, check out the chocolate Jaffa cake.

The must visit bar, restaurant and cafe in the heart of Hugh town on St Mary's. We provide excellent food, drinks and service. Top quality produce will be served daily from our open kitchen where you can enjoy fantastic harbour views, marvel at the skill
Unprepossessing entrance next to the public toilets, but once you get upstairs WOW. Revamped shipping office with a clean bright finish, but making use of original features and artefacts. First rate, friendly, unhurried service. Excellent menu, food properly cooked and well presented. Not the cheapest place in St Marys, but well worth it. Soo good we returned a couple of nights later.

A very unpreproposing location above a fish and chip shop (closed the day we went) through an ordinary entrance, up a narrow stairway into a relatively small upper room. Then wow! An excellent menu with well prepared and delicious food served by charming and friendly staff. What more could you ask for on the first night of a delayed holiday? Oh yes - a definitely not over-demanding bill. I'd really recommend this little gem..
