We ate here last year and was back in Dover again this year. So we called into the The Happy Chef for breakfast. The staff were very polite and the cafe was clean as previous visit. Food was all cooked as we requested. There is parking outside.

Visited with family on a Saturday night. We all had a meal which everybody thought was very nice and reasonably priced. I had the homemade pie and mash which was lovely. The young man that served our table was very polite and friendly. Dog friendly too which is great. Would definitely return next time Iâm in the area.

Forget all the nobby fashionable eatery's in kingsdown -- this is the one - top notch food and excellent well kept beers -- been going years --- we're local and visit once a month ish . An exceptional place where the owners know how to please and keeps the ales in tip top condition. No good for DFLs as the prices are reasonable and the road is narrow so Chelsea tractors will have to park on the seafront.Thank you for that nice review.

Visited as staying ion Dover for 2019 Screwball Rally. Nice locals pub serving Birra Moretti among other others and interesting decor with the signatures of those who have been brave enough to tackle cross channel swim. Our intention was to eat at the White Horse but they donât serve food on a Wednesday but the staff were happy to recommend a good alternative venue.

On Saturday we visited this restaurant for the first time, and we were not disappointed. We chose a variety of dishes including sea bass, crab and chicken. All were delicious and each presented nicely. We followed these up with pavlova and lemon posset. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will visit again.

We visited The Coastguard on a rainy chilly evening in October. The location of the place is just great, right on the beach. We even enjoyed the windy road down - my fellow travelers wondered how on earth I found this place! The food was excellent, the staff very welcoming, friendly, helpful. The only downside to our visit was that the pub was not very warm. They must have had the heating turned off. It would have been a lot cosier if the temperature was a little higher.Thank you for your review. Sorry that the pub was a bit cold. We are just at that time of year between having the heating on and off - also soon we will have our roaring central fire going! Hope to see you again.

A true traditional pub with great character, friendly staff and a great range of drinks which includes a great selection of well kept ale. The staff and locals make a visit to the smugglers bar a gruelling enjoyable experience. The food menu is well priced and the food is of great quality, is well present and cooked. I had a sirloin steak which was cooked to perfection, I can highly recommend the steak. Wish I could have given a sixth star for the food alone.

From the reviews Iâd seen online I was expecting a traditional tearoom but found it to be more of a cafe. The staff were friendly and service was quick but it didnât live up to my expectations.Dear WoolGreen2 we are sorry to hear that our Pines Garden Tearoom did not live up to expectations. We are not clear whether you were in the Tearooms, outside cafe or Yurt and gardens ? 4 adults for lunch. Had starters and mains which included whitebait, beets, soup, partridge, hake and seafood linguine all beautifully presented. Finished with coffee. Restaurant was fairly full and we booked which we would recommend you do and a little wait for food to arrive but not an issue. Quiet and very relaxed and good to sit over a meal. Staff were lovely and helpful. Food good quality and decent menu range too. Price point mid range. We will go again.
