Freshly cooked local sourced food, seasonal menu, real ales and homemade grapefruit gin. Sky Sports and BT Sport on two TV's. Quiz night every Thursday 9:30pm. Sunday Carvery 12 - 2.
A very welcoming and hidden gem of a pub with a great carvery; the landlord and lady are both very welcoming and the ideal place to have a drink or meal.

Just visited for a few drinks and a game of darts.First thing I noticed as we walked in on the 9th September was that Christmas music was playing in the background!! Nice pub, laid out well, Sky Sports on the big screen, dart board, food served, everything you would want from a pub. The only problem was that there were fly's everywhere, behind the bar, on the tables, in your beer. Very off putting, especially for the poor people who were eating.

Hi we are the Peters. We have recently moved into The Huntsman. We hope to create a great homley feel with a warm friendly atmosphere. We have been doing a lot of work to the pub it is still a work in progress. We sell premium lagers, ales and ciders. We

I have just seen my previous review. I thought it was longer but the last price rise was last year 2018. The price rise was ridiculous, nearly 10% but continued to visit.Due to recent VAT changes the cafe has increased all prices by 20%. This has added a further £1.86 to my regular order. So for my two sandwiches and two coffee's it has risen over £2.56 in a year to £11.16.Thank you for taking the time to write a review, all comments are appreciated to help us improve our customer service. I can confirm that the last price rise we had was indeed April 2018 and that was an overall increase of 2%. This year we have not had a price increase at all, however as we have now passed through the Government's VAT small business threshold we are compelled by law to register with HMRC and collect VAT on behalf of the government. I understand this increase is a burden to some of our customers and with this in mind I have not increased any of my food prices this year although wages, pensions etc have increased.

We love this tea room. Although my wife & cannot visit it quite as often as we would like, we simply adore it. From the friendly staff to the decor, huge pots of tea, & very tempting cakes, The MIcklegate Tea Room is just wonderful. Book an afternoon tea or simply turn up & enjoy a slice of cake, (The portions are huge!) & relax knowing you're in good hands. Maureen & her team are always happy to help & you're guaranteed great service. Well worth a visit!Thank you for your kind words. Looking forward to seeing you next time! Maureen

Great food, fine ales, plenty of gin and a friendly atmosphere â what more could you want from a restaurant & country pub? The Drovers Arms, set in the tiny, picturesque village of Skipwith only ten miles south of York, is fast becoming one of the areaâs
Recommended by friends so thought we'd try it.Lovely reception and friendly staff. Good drink selection and attentive staff. The mushroom starter was way too salty though.I had the pork steak and it was really overcooked and tough. My husband had sausages and mash and his sausages were so overcooked too as if they'd been left under a hot lamp or just cooked too much.Nothing special about the food.Very disappointed with the bread and butter pudding too. Lacked flavour and no crunchy outer crust.Won't rush back, especially from Doncaster!!

First visit. Excellent and efficient service, very pleasant waitress and very clean interior. Chips excellently cookedvery generous portion sufficient for two! Fish was a very large portion and well cooked, however a little disappointing, the fish was very chewy. Not the best ive eaten.... Overall good value, but, 'not for single sale' beers......which were somewhat expensive. My personal view only maybe, but fairly low cost items such as peas and curry sauce should be inclusive on the Fish and Chips option!

Weâre a family owned public house and restaurant situated in the heart of Yorkshire just a few miles south of York and Selby. We have a large, beautiful beer garden available and are happy to cater for parties.
Would have rated higher than 5 if possible, Sunday dinner, small portion, which was bigger than the average normal portion, could not fault anything! Absolutely no room for sweet so couldnât comment but the main was delicious
