I visited Pie Society just before leaving Savannah as mandatory evacuations were in place in advance of Hurricane Dorian. I picked up Chicken PotPie and heated it up the next day at home. This magic pie made the long drive and horrible traffic fade away. The flavor is so amazing that your eyes will roll back. When I return to Savannah again, I will definitely visit again and order the Chicken PotPie.

Churchill's

The most important thing to know about Churchill's Pub is that it is under new management, and the new owners/chef owner are some pretty serious restaurant folks. Their history includes, from NYC, Per Se, Le Bernardin, The Modern, Bar Boulud, and from California, The French Laundry. So, you have some pretty serious cooking happening here. The vibe is still relaxed, and the service very friendly, but much more efficient; you are very well attended to here. The room is rustic, but very charming, with pressed tin cielings, and an amazing mahogany bar about twenty feet long brought in from England. The drinks and beer selections are first class. Then, there is the amazing food. It rivals anything in any great city in the world, and surpasses anything local. It is very sophisticated, but friendly and accessible. You just cannot find this level of cooking elsewhere is Savannah. Amazing sound track.
