Attended the hawthorn pub with my partner who is from the area. Upon arrival We were met with friendly staff. We stayed for two drinks and decided to have lunch. There was a variety of food and none were out of stock which is my pet hate when going out for food. Food was quick considering it was busy. Very tasty and presentation was really good. Well worth visiting.

Went for lunch and had a lovely three course menu. Staff were lovely and food was up to a very high standard. Prepared and cooked by three young chefs who came out and introduced themselves after. Talking about their creations they made sound so simple, well done. It was a pleasure to meet you all, and we look forward to repeating the experience very very soon.

Alfred's Bar and Grill is a brasserie style restaurant where the emphasis is on sleek service, quality ingredients, exceptional food and an ambiance akin to a New York brasserie - but set here in Mid Glamorgan. In the restaurant industry change is what be
Visited with friends on a Saturday lunchtime and took advantage of the excellent two course and a drink for £12.50 deal. The food was well presented, fresh and flavoursome. Service was really quick, in fact slightly too quick as some dishes were cleared before we'd all finished. Despite that though, lovely place and excellent value. Would return.

We kept our pub as traditional as a village pub should be. No pool table, no jukebox or machines, it really is a lovely atmosphere where people can talk and relax,. There is a very nice beer garden with childrens play area on the premises, which makes the
I've been visiting this pub for years and years. The decor is smart but suited to the building which is an old building. It's a proper traditional village pub. Great welcome from staff and locals food is excellent and home cooked. Lovely beer garden when weather permits. Great atmosphere when the rugby is on. Dogs on leads seem to be allowed but not sure if this is allowed in evening? Parking out the front and car park at rear. Toilets spotless.. Love this place

A truly amazing experience in every way. The food is utterly delicious and is beautifully presented, by a chef who clearly has a passion for cooking very high quality dishes despite the tiny galley that he has to work in. The staff are knowledgeable, intelligent, genuinely interested in providing top quality service, and really helpfull and swift. We enjoyed our first visit (for Sunday lunch) so much, that we returned on the next Friday evening for dinner, and the experience was every bit as wonderful. I can wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful little gem of a restaurant that is run by young, talented, and highly motivated people. They deserve to succeed.

Booked in for Father's Day lunch. Good welcome. The food was excellent...plentiful and really well cooked and presented. Good value.Only downside, it was a bit noisy, but it is a family environment after all.Thank-you for your review. Yes, Father's Day is always a popular time for us so one can expect it to be a bit noisy. We are so glad you enjoyed the meal and we hope you will book with us again
