Following lunch in the Pavillion restaurant which was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful we had a shop. We decided to stop for cafe and coffee before we headed home. The Terrace had just had an afternoon tea event but it was over. I went in and asked if they were open and had my head bitten off as I was told "Only for drink! The kitchens closed." I asked if cakes were available and told yes. I then was barked at the I could only sit a 2 very squashed together tables even though the whole tea room was empty. You may have been busy but this isn't the way to keep customers, we left and stopped off at a Costa on the way home I stead.

Fantastic chippy!!! Took my kid's before waving farewell to my hometown!!!. Battered chips with red salt, absolutely delicious . Finger licking, scrumptious!!!! Fantastic chitchat. This is a real gem and if we lived in the area, instead of visiting family We would never be away from this chippy!!!! We will be back very soon that's a promise.....Please leave some battered chips for me ....oh and salt and pepper fish, Try this guy's fish cakes and maybe savaloys hahaha. Thank you for today!!!!

Visited here with my boyfriend for some casual breakfast out, and it did not disappoint! I had seen this place on social media always uploading photos and was dying to try.Not a very extensive menu but what they did do they did it well.I had the cheese and bean toastie which was delicious and my partner opted for the full English! Always a winner. Lovely staff who couldnât do enough for you - highly recommend for a spot of lunch/brunch!

First time diners here and was very happy with everything. The food and staff excellent. Had the salt and pepper squid best Iâve tasted and I have tasted it many times had the chicken ham and leak pie again very tasty. Meal for two with starters and mains with two small bottles of prosecco £49. Would recommend and return.

2nd visit to Scholars restaurant. And yet again it didn't disappoint. Every course was superb. I had the most amazing soup stater. Followed by Lancashire cheese pie, vegetables and sauce. Chocolate mousse and ice cream. My wife had Thai fish cakes starter. Beef Wellington with vegetables for main. Lemen posset for desert. All were first class food. And you can also have a nice glass of wine. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. 5 stars for us. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, you support and feedback is appreciated. On Sunday I just fancied a home made Sunday lunch without all the washing up that comes with it and my partner suggested eating here.We hadnât booked but the staff were more than accommodating at finding a table to fit us in.I ordered the beef Sunday lunch and asked if they could swap the new potatoes for mash and I must say I was not disappointed. The beef was beautifully cooked and the accompaniments were lovely, with a huge yorkshire pudding on top. For £9.95 absolute bargain, lovely home cooked food without any washing up!I would definitely recommend eating here â¤ï¸

Saturday afternoon. Out for a few drinks and feeling peckish. This place has a largish menu, with a specials board, so there's plenty to choose from. We had scampi (which apparently was more than acceptable) and the home made meat pie. Fab service, great food, lovely people and very reasonably priced. We'd definitely come here to eat again.

2nd time we have been here for a family gathering and I have to say the Staff are wonderful. Very attentive and professional. The good is lovely and we all had different options. I tried the Chicken Kiev and it was delicious and served with sweet potato fries and a side salad. The Hargreaves pale ale, is a lovely blonde ale and highly recommended.. Overall another good night, great company and being honest a slightly bad head this morning. We will no doubt be back.
