Lovely setting on top of the hill with great views!!! The restaurant is accessible for everyone, and you can easily get a wheelchair in. The staff are very friendly and very efficient!! Now the important bit!!! The Sunday roast was exceptional...we had 2xpork, 2xlamb and 1xbeef. You can choose the size of your lunch...regular (which is large) and small (which is ideal for most)!! The food was absolutely delicious....and was delivered to our table not long after our order. All in all, a great experience!!

Warm bar and dinning, friendly staff, relax and comforting!!
Visited this pub restaurant with a friend for Sunday lunch. We both ordered the roast lamb and at the time of ordering specifically asked for mint sauce. The food took sometime to arrive and when it was served we were asked if we wanted anything, my friend asked once again for mint sauce only at this point to be told they had run out. We appeared to be among the first to be served on the day. The food was good but the incident with the mint sauce tarnished the experience.

A 400 year old hunting lodge set on Minchinhampton Common in the Cotswolds, The Old Lodge restaurant provides a fairytale setting in which to dine. Built in traditional mellow Cotswold stone, The Old Lodge, at one time a hunting lodge owned by Henry VIII,
We went here two nights running and thoroughly enjoyed the food both times. The Saturday night was very busy but the service was unaffected. It was dark by the time we got here but would imagine it is fabulous sitting outside overlooking the common.

Iâm not sure if they waited at The Ragged Cot hadnât been expecting so many diners as had shown up the night we visited, or if he simply preferred to move as if harried and rushed, but the service was not relaxed - and our drive order was served incorrectly. Food was okay. Had a tofu Thai curry with wild rice. Atmosphere was fine too, but we were seated in the newer part of the building, and decor was a mismatched selection of art and furniture. Prob wouldnât return.

As always the starters and mains were excellently cooked, presented and served: the dining experience however is not all that matters in creating an enjoyable evening. However, to maintain its reputation in the competitive Nailsworth market, I think that William's Kitchen will have to improve its access to, and the facilities provided in its bathrooms. The stairway, landings and bathrooms are really below standard and let down the otherwise excellent experience. From the top of the stairs you are faced with views of storage and back of house facilities that do not do justice to the downstairs environment, and the new guest might not find their way to the bathroom due to lack of signage. We are fans of William's, but do wonder if they could do better in this regard?

We have been infrequent visitors to the Weighbridge for almost 50 years and have not found another pub in the area to equal it. We have seen many Landlords and Owners come and go but the quality of the food never varies. It is consistently very good. We have never explored the menu over this period as we have always loved the home made 2 in 1 pies, so if itâs not broken why mend it ! I until recently have always been able to eat the large pie but now in my mid 70âs join my trim wife with the smaller variety. The large pie is not for the faint hearted. The one advantage of scaling down is being able to enjoy one of the tempting desserts which we did recently by sharing a 2 in 1 Cherry and Apple Crumble with a jug of pouring custard, which was simply divine. What we like about the food is that itâs all home made, by chefs who know their business and no sight of a white van delivering so called gourmet food, that simply requires warming up. The chips that are served are also made with potatoes and are NOT the frozen variety that is all so often the case these days. What a commendation that now two elderly folk after an almost 50 year loyal patronage can still recommend this wonderful charming hostelry.Polite and efficient staff, great selection of ales and wines and a really well managed establishment.

Visited on Wednesday for a quiet coffee. As always, the warmest welcome awaited and the service excellent. Genuinely enjoyed the nicest Eccles cake I had EVER tasted, warmed perfectly in the oven, served with a latte. A little gem in a lovely village.

We use fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. We are passionate about anything that can be put on the table. We offer a casual dining experience and serve the classics well.
I booked a table for 5 for lunch a week in advance. Please note - booked. When we turned up we were informed that the restaurant had taken an outside catering job that day and consequently because they didn't have their chefs they had cancelled the lunchtime menu and we would have to order from the breakfast menu. 2 of the party felt that this was unacceptable and left. The 3 of us made the best of it & ordered Haddock Omelette and an egg & spinach dish which I can't remember the title of. It then transpired that they were fresh out of Haddock & Spinach, so we had plain omelette & poached egg.for lunch. They shouldn't have taken the booking.Outrageous.Hi Nick,Iâm so sorry to hear that you didnât enjoy your experience with us. We have always tried to ensure we give our customers a high standard of service and food. We have catering events every weekend but there is always a chef in BIRCH when we serve food. We serve a breakfast/brunch menu on a Saturday as weâre incredibly busy and this ensures we can serve people quickly whilst maintaining our high standards. We were extremely busy on the day you visited and we unexpectedly ran out of a few of the menu items. I will message you independently in order to make sure your next visit to BIRCH is satisfactory.
