This is a good place to stop and eat your meal both inside or out. There is mooring for boaters, and lots of parking in the town. There fish and chips are probably the best you will get anywhere in the town. Service and welcome very good.

First time visit for us & would highly recommend. I had confit duck which was superb and my OH had the beef cheeks which he said was delicious. Having also had generous starters we reluctantly had no room for desserts but the choice looked very tempting. Wednesday evening 'price fixe' menu was excellent value for money too.

Join us at The Exchange, an eating and meeting place with three concepts: during the daytime the downstairs Tea Parlour offers a menu for a quick coffee and cake or a full sumptuous afternoon tea. In the evening this space transforms into it’s alter ego,
This smart restaurant has a good reputation for good quality food, and there is parking nearby. It is central for all the shops in March, which is a friendly market town where people say good morning to each other and smile. Good place for arranging to meet friends or, if you are on holiday, to enjoy a wide range of lunch or evening dinner choices of a good quality. Staff are also friendly and helpful.

The Seven Stars is a pub with eating areas, garden, play area, large car park and covered smoking area. Food times: Tuesday to Saturday 12-2 & 6-9 Sunday 12-4. We have a separate Gluten Free Menu and fryer.
The food in this pub is superb, it'll give any restaurant a run for it's money! The girl behind the bar always has a smile on her face, we take our elderly father in law there all the time and she has even started calling him Grandad, which he loves! The chef is a master of his craft, every meal is always polished off as it's cooked to perfection!Best eaterie in the town without doubt!Thank you for your lovely review. It’s always nice to see you all when you are down here visiting Grandad!See you next time.

Great location in town, rooms are clean and good size. Just remember that on a Friday and Saturday your sleeping above a disco...but great in that not far to crawl to bed. Fabulous breakfast served every morning. Staff are great and friendly and the pub is dog friendly.... will be returning. Fans of the chicken wings !!! thank you for the credited response

Weatherspoon Public House
We visit apt of wetherspoons as they are great for families with young children. This particular one was very impressive.Firstly the building is like no other restaurant or pub, it is an old theatre and they have continued this theme throughout. Very nice atmosphere. The staff are friendly and the food was very well cooked and presented. The best wetherspoons we've been to.

If we're planning to meet socially over a beer in March, this is the first choice pub, for atmosphere, location, drinks, and a friendly atmosphere. As a bonus, whilst they don't do anything else food-wise, they do an excellent full-English on certain days of the week. On a sunny day, a pint or three outside by river is just the ticket.

Looking for a light lunch on a jaunt to March we happened across The Acre - formerly the Rose and Crown, I learned a little later when popping into the town museum - tucked behind the main drag right in the town centre and sitting alongside the river.I'd normally look for a free house on such occasions but this Greene King pub looked popular, with lots of outdoor tables and plenty of punters indoors, too.No real surprises on the menu but a decent choice for all-comers and a selection of specials above the bar.The tuna jacket potato scored a double thumbs up, a quality spud given just the right amount of cooking and a generous, but not over the top. filling. I was hankering for a ploughman's but once again found it missing from the menu - has it been consigned to history? The hunt goes on. However, the simple ham sandwich was a real winner, too - thick slices of premium ham, similar slabs of fresh tomato and doorstep slices of bread, not too thick to interfere with transfer from plate to mouth but a real meal. Keep it simple, do it well, add a pint of local beer, tick tick tick.Service was efficient and well-organised but not superfast and I could easily see how the team could get swamped at peak periods, but we had no complaints. Not open on a Monday, apparently. Is that a thing now?Thank you for your in-depth review. We appreciate your positive comments and take on board your constructive criticism. We find a review such as this most helpful. Thank you , and I do hope we see you again soon .

I have been coming here for about 8-9 years & although we visit during the year the Boxing Day lunch has become the fixed event in the Calendar. Although we don't live locally (I did) my Mother does. The place is a mid terrace houses & the lounge area is a bit like your lounge at home, except probably bigger & has a Bar in the corner. Martyn & Julia run the place with some assistance & certainly for Boxing Day know most by name. The lounge is where they take coats, dish out menus & you have a drink. A short while after your order is taken, you are called to the restaurant which is relatively small. There is another room used as a restaurant on occasion. The menu is quite different, I spend a lot of time away from home so a different menu from the hotel norm is good. This Boxing Day we had between the four of us thai Crab cake, dates wrapped in bacon with a mustard sauce & baked Camembert with cranberries. For mains two went for Lamb shank, I went for braised beef & my wife for the chicken. Despite being full after a brief pause we dived into the puds. As always the food was great, the desert wine was lovely, which Julia remembered my wife drinks with the main meal. Normally we'd sit in the lounge & have tea & coffees but we were too full, so paid the bill & went home.Always good would recommend at any time of the year.Thank you for your review. We are always delighted to see you & your family on Boxing Day, & any other visit you make during the year!We appreciate all your positive comments, & that you approved the menu on offer, & the choices you all made. We look forward to seeing you in 2018.

I can’t understand why this place is so high on the list. Went here for a carvery on a Sunday and I really can not see what everyone is raving about. Our experience included frozen vegetables and no wine list?? What eatery doesn’t have a wine list? The staff were friendly enough albeit quite young which brings looks of confusion when asked questions. The quality of the meat I have to say was good and the desserts were a 6 out of ten. Overall a strange experience with mediocre food that I won’t be chomping the bit to get back to.
