We champion the use of fresh produce from local suppliers and our seasonal menus are created by Head Chef Dan Graham. Expect a journey of exciting flavours and textures showcasing the best of Yorkshire produce. The wine list is carefully put together to o
As part of a deal, we were entitled to a 5 course starter menu in the Wentworth dining room. I don't really know what I was expecting but found the minimalistic portions unsatisfying. Very artistically presented and obviously time consuming to prepare, but not very much actually to eat. It was difficult to chose a wine from the extensive list to partner these esoteric dishes but my husband, as ever, found a flavoursome white rioja which didn't break the bank. Strangely we were not asked if we would like any help in chosing a suitable wine. The breakfast was good, although the toast was underdone and the small round accompanying the excellent scrambled egg was very mean and thin. But a good choice of cereals, fruit, yogurts, pastries etc to satisfy everyone.

Fancied somewhere different to eat and not too far from home. Lovely friendly welcome, helpful staff. Menu was a good choice, pub food done very well. Enjoyed everything just no space for dessert unfortunately, maybe next time. Would definitely recommend and areas are dog friendly too!

The Award-winning Bay Horse Pub, Burythorpe. Serving a selection of our own & guest ales. Open every day from 11:30. Delicious lunches served from 12:00-2:00
On a recommendation, planned a Sunday lunch at this pub with my son half way between a 12 mile walk in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds. We were not disappointed as it was our type of pub, oldie worldie with stone/brick floors and all the old photographs and such that make a true English Country Pub.A good menu and several types of craft beers all at good prices. We were crossing from the fields to the pub when a farmer warned us that we would need good appetites, and he wasn't wrong. The owner as well as the few locals made us feel welcome and coupled with this made an enjoyable lunch.I usually keep these gems to myself, but I understand that after being closed for several years, in 2016 the locals encouraged the re-opening and although quite busy, village pubs like this require and deserve outside customers as well as local trade. It has gone on my list as favourite pubs and we are already looking towards our next visit.A lovely post which describes not only the experience at the pub, but the friendly nature of the locals. Many thanks for taking the time to review the pub.

Visitors to the area with teenage children, so Italian is always a good option. We only try to eat at smaller independent restaurants and Florios is just that.It was a packed Friday evening yet the service was still excellent as was the food.We were tended to by several different members of staff during the evening from person taking food & drinks order to server, clearing table, 2nd course, more drinks etc, at no stage did anyone of the servers disappoint, each one excellent, even the chap who took our original order although very busy elsewhere still popped back for courtesy check if all Ok.Atmosphere was buzzing, loud and friendly, a great place to go for an evening.Back to my original point of independentâs I feel they generally try harder to make it work and the food was all fresh to order which could be clearly seen via the large open service area (reassuring)So reasonably priced, with excellent food and service, a great choice. Thanks

Atmospheric village pub with high quality pub food, open fires, cask ale. Located near many local attractions such as The Wolds Way, Malton, Flamingoland, Scarborough and much more
Just one night in mid October. It's a great location between York and Scarborough. Essentially a very good local pub with very good food. Choice of cask ales and a good variety of all drinks and gins! A really nice beer garden.Simon (our host) was very kind and attentive to our needs. We had room 2 which was sympathetically decorated to the age of the building and felt very new and clean. Our seventeen yr old slept in a Z bed which easily fitted in the room and was very comfortable apparently. Breakfast was huge and like all the food locally sourced, fresh, tasty and satisfying. Good value too!

Beautiful Grade 2 listed pub with a small kitchen. Under New management since 3 June 2019. Steven and Amanda (Owners) are fully involved in the day to day running of the business and with their small team offer a friendly and informal service. We are very
Our friends took us here for lunch because they came last week and loved it and we now love it too. We had the 3 course pensioners lunch at £8.00. I had soup the 4oz steak chips with garden peas and finished with the apple and cinnamon crumble with custard. The food was excellent, beautifully presented and good value. The restaurant is spotless with local pictures on the walls. The couple running the pub were friendly and very welcoming. Definitely recommend and cannot wait to come again. Hi Hazel,Glad you guys all enjoyed your visit and lunch. It was interesting speaking to you all about steam trains and areas where youâve lived that we love visiting.Hopefully see you all again soon.Steve
