Decided to visit Heybridge as had heard a lot about the area. Unfortunately on the day we went it was just too hot to be out and walking anywhere very far - it was great to find a nice shaded outside space at The Jolly Sailor where we could enjoy a drink and bite to eat. As the driver I was particularity pleased to find that they served Adnams Ghost Ship Low Alcohol beer, rather than the tasteless and over priced alternatives most places seem to have! The food was lovely and great value for money. The number of customers showed how popular the place is!The pub is located in a great area for long walks (weather permitting), is peaceful and not badly priced. Worth a visit.Thank you for taking the time to review the Jolly Sailor

Best coronation chicken I have ever had. The salad was so fresh with an interesting mix of leaves and hubby has the all day cooked breakfast that he said was one of the best he has ever had. The tea came in a huge teapot, hot and strong, along with a cute little milk bottle full of milk. This was out first visit but it definitely wont be the last. Looks like we have found out pot of gold in MaldonThank you so much for your kind words, they have made our day! So glad you enjoyed your time with us, its so lovely when customers note the finer details. Makes it all worth while! Thank you once again!

Smoked Seafood And Meats
Spent almost 3 hours sitting in the sunshine by the water enjoying a taste board for two plus scallop and sausage starter and extra bread bucket which we shared between four people. All enjoyed along with own wine, drinks etc. Staff are great, very relaxed atmosphere.

Popped in for some lunch and refreshments while out cycling with friends. This is a quaint cafe with good honest food and excellent service. When I am out cycling in the area this is always a highlight.

First visit, but it won't be the last! First impressions: small and quaint. A nice welcome from the staff. Very clean cutlery, glasses and napkins (I notice these things). The menu is short, but with a range of dishes so everyone should find something to their taste. The service throughout was excellent, and the food was lovely. My impression is that Rubino's has decided to do a smaller number of dishes than some other restaurants, but do them very, very well, using local ingredients where possible. Even the coffee was first class, roasted by a small company "over the border" in Hertfordshire, and tasting as if it had been roasted that morning. I thoroughly recommend this little gem.

My friend and I really enjoyed our afternoon tea today. Often have lunch at this lovely place.. it really is an oasis of calm...first time we've had afternoon tea here and I couldn't fault it. The staff here are always so friendly and make every visit special. The afternoon tea is beautifully presented and better than London ones. Excellent value for money. I had a gluten free afternoon tea and it was wonderful. Gluten free scones were perfect, you couldn't tell the difference. I would highly recommend Mrs Salisburys any day but their afternoon tea is definitely worth going for.

This was our first visit and it was really good. Motherâs Day meant we had to wait a little while for our table but it was worth it. Roasts were enormous with veg served separately and the Beef Bourguinon was fabulous so tender and tasty. I felt really full, but managed to squeeze in a baguette bread pudding with cranberries and creamy custard, also the apple pie looked really good again with creamy custard. The young man who looked after us couldnât do enough for us and altogether it was a great experience. As I said first visit but not the last.Hello Mo H! Thank you for finding time to write this review. Motherâs Day was extremely busy for us and we tried our best to make our customers happy. We are glad you would like to visit our restaurant again and we are looking forward to cooking for you!
