Friendly run pub that offers a great selection of beers, lagers, wines and spirits. Just recently opened our food side with a varied and good selection for all to choose including the children. We accept dogs (on a lead at all times) we also have disabled
Lovely home cooked food with good portion size. Very reasonably priced. Able to accommodate my dietary requirements. Friendly staff and comfortable surroundings. Food served until 6pm - ideal for an early meal. Thank you very much for your review, pleased that we could help with your dietary requirements - hopefully see you back soon

Under new managements since March 2016. Everyone welcome even the dog!! We serve food 7 days a week from March till the end of October.
We were not expecting great things considering the location in the caravan site, but how wrong we were. We had a great meal, well presented with reasonable prices. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Considering the type of place (both inside and outside) they may be better utilising an âorder your food at the barâ approach, we certainly did. Most important thing is we will be back.

Dating from the 17th century, this former inn lies in the town centre. Now a family-run hotel, it provides attractive well-equipped bedrooms with WiFi access. At lunch, a menu ranging from snacks to full meals is served in both the cosy bars and the resta
Had to stop off at Lockerbie due to a small tyre malfunction that meant an unscheduled overnight stay in a hotel, was recommended here by the lovely guys at the garage who phoned and sorted my booking for me, they could obviously see I'd not had brilliant day.Check in was quick and the ongoing refurbishment was also mentioned in case this was a problem.Room was at the front has a bit of traffic noise but as the bed was so good I slept like a log, (doubt if a brass band marching past would've wakened me)As I'd not eaten all day I decided to eat in the hotel bar, food was freshly made and piping hot and I had a wee gin to ease the pain of the day. After a lovely sleep (ensuite bathroom has a lovely bath/shower that I had a fab soak in) I headed down for breakfast plenty choice of cereals etc plus an option of a full cooked(either Scottish or English) which more than sets you up for the day.I have to mention Jess the very lovely lass who was doing the bar/reception and the breakfast in the morning , cheerful, friendly and efficient.Hotel is going through some major refurbishment but don't let that put you off if I'm ever in the area I wouldn't hesitate to book a room. Loved having my breakfast with the suit if armour guarding over me.

Booked for lunch with a number of friends and were glad that they could accomodate 19 of us so close to Christmas. Decent selection on the menu and something to satisfy everyone. Orders for all courses were taken shortly after we were seated. The food we ordered arrived in a timely manner and was served on hot plates; and the bread rolls were still warm when they arrived at the table - nice! I can only vouch for the food I had - the winter soup was tasty, the beef tender and the vegetable platter plentiful and not overcooked. The Whim Wam (trifle) was a nice finish to our meal, or so I thought, but I'd forgotten about the mince pies and tea/coffee. The mince pies arrived warm, with fine pastry casings - very tasty.I'd say that the fixed price menu was good value and all our party left satisfied.

Another lovely stay at this hotel. Recommend the porridge at breakfast is simply wonderful. Evening meal was nice but had changed the menu but not changed the menu list in the bedroom so little disappointed as had chosen what I was going to have, but that said was still enjoyable.Thank you for your review, sorry about not changing the in room menu, we do change our menus fairly regular to keep up with seasonal variances. Thank you once again for your review

As a HGV driver this a welcome place to park and have a break with decent food.Staff always friendly and helpful, a welcome break from the faceless multi nationals on the direct motorways. Even the small shop sells at fair prices also a welcome change from getting ripped off at other places.Always my preferred choice if times and route dictate.

A small private Restaurant with rooms serving Evening Suppers to our B&B guests. There may however, be space available to non-guests subject to availability. Please give us a call first to reserve a table.
Went for our six monthly meal, whilst visiting Dumfries and Galloway, and once again we were not disappointed with the food.Menu constantly changes and whatever we choose is always first class.Pork Stroganoff was beautiful-thanks Morag.Mark fronts the house and as usual I'd great,he also plays great background music. Now are fans of Blue Nile and John Martyn after listening to them here.BillAlways great to see you both and this time, glad the Pork Stroganoff hit the spot....along with the music. Planning to close on 17th Nov for our winter break, reopening on 5th March 2020. Take care and see you soon.M&M, The Hightae Inn

My friend and I stayed here for one night when we were walking the Annandale Way. Itâs such a friendly, welcoming hotel. My room was large, spotlessly clean, well equipped, and the bed was really comfortable. My friendâs was smaller and looked out on the car wash but it didnât bother her as it wasnât in use much. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. We wouldnât hesitate to stay here again or to recommend it. We had a lovely stay.
