Very nice hotel, rooms spacious and clean.Whole hotel is dog friendly including eating areas. Vegetarian and pescatarian breakfast available, smoked haddock and poached eggs for breakfast highly recommended!Evening meals very good too, my wife really enjoyed her tuna nicoise salad.WiFi was hit and miss in our room but fine in communal areas of the hotel, but didn't bother me particularly but could probably lead to some people complaining!!

We stayed for one night at Hipping Hall having the 11 course set menu for dinner, with wine accompaniment. The menu was varied, interesting, well presented, and cooked to a very high standard. The wine accompaniments were interesting, adding to the satisfaction of the experience. The service was attentive, and smooth. Overall we enjoyed our dinner at Hipping Hall.

The Sun Inn's AA restaurant features local produce, using top regional ingredients in modern British dishes and with a few creative touches.
We visited twice while staying in Kirkby, once for lunch and one for dinner. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful and for the most part the food was excellent, the one exception being part of the trout my wife ordered was underdone. When we mentioned this we were very quickly offered a free dessert or tea/coffee but didn't take them up on it.I would have preferred a bigger choice of cask ales but that's a personal thing and we would definitely visit again.Dear Howard, Thank you for your review. We look forward to seeing you again. Kind regards, Hannah

Wanted a night away somewhere special without paying stupidly high prices and certainly found a great place here for DBB. Warm welcome. Bedroom well equipped and comfortable with nice touches such as bottled water/herbal teas and biscuits. Dinner had an excellent menu with service and food to match. Breakfast was equally great. Due to the lack of parking in Kirkby you do have to park a couple of minutes walk away but they give you a card for free parking while you stay there. They also offered to bring our bag in from the car when we popped to pick the parking card up before going to the car park. Definitely want to go back! Could anything be improved? Perhaps have reading lights available in the bedrooms.Thank you for leaving us a review on Tripadvisor. We are so pleased you enjoyed our stay with us. We appreciate your comments as this is how we can improve our product and service. We hope you will visit us again soon.Warmest regards Alex

Lovely tea room, delicious and fresh food, efficient friendly service and reasonably priced. Went with our two teenage daughters and mother in law for a light lunch during a brief visit to the quaint little town of Kirky Lonsdale before returning home to Salisbury. This was perfect as we wanted something quick but nice too!

Super little cafe with wonderful scones, cakes and coffee - our only regret is that we didnât opt for one of the amazing looking breakfasts! Gluten free options were mega tasty and the great staff were so dog friendly that after explaining our little one was allergic to dog biscuits he was then offered bacon instead! Highly recommended and weâll be back to try the breakfast!
