The Druie takes its name from the burn(river) that rushes behind the restaurant and always seems in a hurry to carry clear, sparkling mountain water from the Cairngorms to the River Spey. We are open daily 9.30am - 5.00pm for locally roasted coffee, local
is part of the estate and located next to the shop. cosy and snug atmosphere. well visited with comfy furniture. staff is very friendly and efficient. opted for the Cullen slink and a salmon sandwich. the soup was delicious and well filled. the sandwich made of chunky bread and well filled. not a cheap place but well worth the money.

regular fresh food now with gluten free bread options which now means we don't just have to have salad! Really super helpful staff especially the manager who goes out of his way to please the customers, this is the second most important part of a food experience. For the price, and convenience you cannot complain. This is the way things should be!

We fancied stopping for a tasty meal. It was a cold wet dark evening and we were on our way to camp for the night with a big hill day the following day. We ordered scampi and chips and chicken Macdui. When our meals arrived I definitely felt disappointed....... overcooked peas and unappetising looking chips.....lukewarm; the scampi was hot. A wedge of lemon on the plate but nothing else. My partners chicken was lukewarm and it looked like there was no veggies with it. He did uncover a couple of pieces of roasted carrot I think. The place is definitely popular with people waiting for tables but with the standard of food we had I wouldnât go back.

We had a very nice tagliatelle with seafood and we both found it to be both tasty and with well balanced flavours.I personally have a thing for when the chefs personally serve the food, to me it shows pride in work, standing behind the finished product and not keep on hiding in the kitchen.Heated plates was an added bonus! Staff fun, friendly and very accommodating. The place was slightly cold due to the fully open door, jammed open. But, we non-Scots feel the chill more than the true Scots do! Laughing

We had a wonderful evening at The Cross and look forward to returning again soon. We had a lovely table by the fire and the staff couldnât have been more helpful and friendly. I had the quail, followed by the roast halibut and finished with the cheesecake. Every mouthful was delicious. Thank you very much.

Called in after a day of driving for two breadcrumbed fish suppers. Fish not as big as I had hoped but quality was okay. Price however of £8.80 per Supper was on the steep side. Never paid £17.60 for two tahke away suppers before anywhere!Good morning, I am sorry you found prices expensive. We do However pride ourselves in great quality and that comes at a cost to us also. We have an extensive menu with lots of cheaper options but I'm afraid that's just the price for a fish supper here in the highlands. We hope you enjoyed your meals though and would love to welcome you back again next time xx

We had great service and good food. A variety of options weâre available including gluten free and vegeterian which was great! Only a small complaint would be of the temperature in the room. The door we believe was left open to air out the freshly washed carpets and it was a little frisky. But we are assuming this was unusual.

A part of Loch Insh Watersports, the Boathouse Restaurant sits right on the Loch-side, with stunning views over the water & should you dine in the evening, fantastic sunsets to look upon. We are open from 10am everyday, with Lunch served from 12pm - 4pm &
We ate here after spending time out on the loch. The menu isn't extensive however for a lunch after watersports it offered enough of a choice. More importantly, the portions were decent. The burger was really good, and looked and tasted home-made. There were a number of cakes on offer and there were certainly plenty of staff around so we had no problem being served. The restaurant wraps around a bar with panoramic views across the loch to the pine forests and mountains beyond - truly spectacular.I notice others have complained in other reviews about wilting lettuce etc, but I think the visitor needs to remember that this place is fairly remote, and at times getting in fresh supplies may be difficult. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

My family have been visiting this ideally located country hotel sporadically for 15 years.
